You guys! This book GLOWS IN THE DARK!!! How cool is that!!! My 2 youngest love these board books! We have several of them from Zonderkidz! Bible stories, prayer books, etc. But this is the FIRST one we've had that glows in the dark!!! Each page has a little prayer/poem and a corresponding Bible verse! I absolutely LOVE that the can keep this near them at night when it gets dark! What better thing to comfort you when you're afraid! I received this book free of charge from Zondervan in exchange for my honest review.

MAY THE FAITH BE WITH YOU BEDTIME PRAYERS – A Glow-in-the-Dark Book was sent to me by Zonderkidz (A division of Zondervan Publishing), free of charge, in exchange for my honest review. This prayer book was written by Susan Collins Thoms and illustrated by Robert Dunn. This a board book, so I’m going to be giving it to my baby grandsons (3 years and 5 years). I like board books for the littler ones because they tend to be messy (sticky fingers) with their books. I do believe in teaching even the tiny ones to take care of their books. But, this way, until they learn, their books will be safe and they can enjoy the beautiful pictures. Robert Dunn did a great job with these illustrations. They are all about space, and I believe children will be drawn to them. I love the poems that are prayers by Susan Collins Thoms. I love poetry, so I even love them, as an adult. LOL The pages are glow in the dark, so little ones will be enthralled!! I DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone with tiny tots, up to about early elementary. I recommend it to mommies and daddies and those who read to them, as well. This is a GREAT bedtime book!!

“Before we touchdown for the day Let’s stop and bow our heads to pray. Dear God above, Please send your love. Bless all we do, and think, and say,” The short Bedtime Blessing rhymes in Susan Collin Thoms’s children’s book, May the Faith Be with You Bedtime Prayers. ~ What ~ At thirty pages, this board book that is part of the May The Faith Be with You series has a padded front cover that glows in the dark and rounded corners; it is targeted toward children ages four to eight years old. With no scary scenes, it contains fifteen short prayers about outer space from a spiritual perspective involving God. Having full-page colored illustrations of space-related subjects, the rhyms are on the top left of the opened pages with the backgrounds dedicated to the drawings, and written out Bible verses on the bottom right corners. The New International Version of the Holy Bible is used. ~Why ~ Most adults and children can relate to the Star Wars craze, and this book is no exception. The illustrations are engaging with galaxies, stars, planets, and rocket ships. I like that the prayers mention God and His marvelous creations as well as the Bible verses. Many of the pictures have a raised matte finish that can be touched and felt. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with God may not like a book that is about Him. Others may find the theme being gimmicky as it is lightly based on a secular movie, yet it does refer to God on every page. Beginner readers may struggle with the two- and three syllable words. ~ Wish ~ The book’s cover states it is a “glow-in-the-dark” book, but only the front cover can be seen in the dark. I wish all pronouns of God were capitalized for reverence. ~ Want ~ If you are looking for a book that tries to mimic the famous movie series of Star Wars but is Biblical, this may interest you, but I am on the fence about its commercialization. Thanks to Z Blog Squad for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.

Short, sweet and to the point. My boys and I pray faithfully, but sometimes you just have those days when you are worn out. As I go into my kiddos rooms to tuck them in I can see their eyes drooping and I know that they are not going to be up long. And even though I do love spending several minutes with them praying I understand we all have those days that we just can't keep our eyes open. That is why I love this Bedtime Prayer book. I dont let them use it every night, I do think your prayer and time talking to God should be more personal, but i do let them use it some nights :) Each page is filled with a little Scripture and a cute prayer that my boys can say in under 2 minutes. It also has cute pictures to go with the prayers. My oldest is 10 so I don't see him using it much longer, but my youngest is 7 and I can see him using it for at least several more years. There is one prayer in particular he really likes, "God's Love". Even sometimes when he is saying his own prayers I can hear him using the ending of this one. I love that it must have really touched him that he using it and applying it! I was given this book in order to form and write my own review

One of my favorite times of the day is bedtime. I love the smell of freshly bathed kids and enjoy spending a little time reading and winding down the day with them. We enjoy a variety of books for this time and May The Faith Be With You: Bedtime Prayers is the newest one we've read through. Anything with a space theme is probably going to be a hit at our house and this book was. It's designed for ages 4-8 so it was a perfect fit for us. The premise of the book is simple. There is a rhyming verse and then a corresponding scripture. The illustrations are stunning and take the book from average to extraordinary. There are fifteen different selections and I suppose you could read and discuss one a night but we read the whole thing in its entirety. The thing that sets this book apart from the others on our shelf is the glow-in-the-dark feature. The kids love this but let me give you a little mom tip. Before you let your little ones enjoy the book take some time to charge up the pages. It's easy to lay the book beneath a lamp and ever so often turn the page and let it soak up the light. This will let you fully enjoy the book in the dark and not have frustrated kids at bedtime. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

MAY THE FAITH BE WITH YOU BEDTIME PRAYERS is for the younger set. It includes a Bible verse and a prayer and cool pictures of colorful, space-themed art that your child can feel the different textures. It even glows in the dark! A great book for teaching small children how to pray and have evening directions. This would be a cool gift for new parents or your favorite toddler, baby, or preschooler. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.
