Harvey Deutschendorf (Edmoton, Alberta CANADA) Just when you thought you had read everything there was on dieting, John Gray comes up with some fascinating new insights. Linking diet to brain chemicals, sex drive, psychological wellness and gender in a comprehensive, yet easy to understand manner; this book goes far beyond other diet books out there. While filled with interesting material, the beauty of this book lies in making dieting as simple, or complex as the reader chooses. The author is fully aware that for most people, diets need to be simple, straightforward, easy to use and provide results in a short period. I have been using his breakfast shake formula for 3 months now and have noticed a marked increasy in my energy level, mental alertness...and yes...even my sex drive! I highly recommend this book.

The Mars & Venus Diet & Exercise Solution is a book that has blown me away! What I expected was another book putting another spin on how to lose weight. I was wrong¿dead wrong! This book isn¿t just about diet and weight loss, it¿s a book about liberating yourself from psychological and physical struggle. I¿ve been a psychologist for over twenty-five years and Dr. Gray¿s book has opened my eyes to the nutritional-biological underpinnings of psychological problems¿it¿s all about brain chemistry. I will recommend this book to any of my patients who want to know why they feel depressed, anxious, unmotivated, or why their relationship falters. Simply put, this is a book that can save your life. John Gray's 'The Mars & Venus Diet & Exercise Solution' is a remarkable achievement. That an expert in relationships has taken the time and effort to read and master esoteric research on brain chemistry and made it accesible and usable for us lay readers is amazing. Edwards Deming, the quality guru, once said: 'It's not what you don't know that's the problem; it's what you know that's NOT SO!' Gray punctures many of the myths about diet and exercise that people have been religiously following for years. The famous Pritikin and Atkins diets, for example, do not emerge unscathed. This is not just another weight-loss book. People suffering from conditions as desparate as ADD/ADHD, addictions, brain concussions, or depression, to name a few, can find valuable new approaches to treatment. It's actually a book on how to effectively manage your own brain chemistry. The book challenges the dominance in our culture of allopathic (that is, traditional) medicine with its overuse of powerful drugs and their side-effects. It supports the use of alternative therapies such as homeopathy and aromatherapy. And it is not 'one size fits all': Gray makes careful distinctions, not only by gender as one would expect from the creator of the Mars/Venus school of gender differences, but by body type as well. What works for rectangular body type mesomorphs might be all wrong for round body endomorphs. One recurring theme that I especially appreciated was Gray's reminder that we don't have to follow his regimen perfectly for it to be effective, a welcome reassurance for us perfectionists. My greatest concern about the book is that it will seem too far out for large numbers of people to follow the regimen, that the gradient will be too steep. This would be a tragic waste of information that could bestow significant benefits on humankind.

As an expert in the field of romance, I openly inform my seminar participants and the readers of my book that I am no relationship expert. Romance is definitely an important aspect of relationships, but romance is but a branch of the relationship tree.

Dr. John Gray¿s revolutionary expertise in relationships for the past decade is uncanny. So, when I got my hands on his latest book, The Mars & Venus Diet & Exercise Solution, I wondered, ¿What did exercise and diet have to do with relationships?¿

I read his book and got the answer... A LOT! Dr. Gray meticulously explores the balance among food, physical activity, relationship, brain activity, intimacy, inner peace, and so much more, while he vividly describes the differences between the genders. This book opens the reader¿s eyes to realizing that relationships don¿t stand apart from exercise, which doesn¿t stand apart from brain chemistry, which doesn¿t stand apart from diet. They are all connected and create what we call life.

To find strong relationships we must give our body what it needs. To be physically healthy we must give our mind what it needs. To have balanced brain chemistry we need give the heart what it needs.

If romance is a branch of the tree of relationships, the tree sits among others (the tree of happiness, the tree of spirituality, the tree of health, etc...) in the orchard of life. And, Dr. Gray is the horticulturist that brings it all to harvest.

It takes John Gray to show, once again, that men and women are different ¿ that we react differently to food and exercise programs just as we react differently to just about everything else in life! How obvious! So obvious, we would have completely missed it, were it not for Dr. Gray`s new book The Mars & Venus Diet & Exercise Solution. And we would have missed the advice and solutions that can help all of us have the energy, resiliency and optimism to reach out for life¿s next great adventure¿ that next glorious trapeze. The Mars and Venus Diet and Exercise Solution makes perfect sense and there's no one better to explain the differences between men and women when it comes to dieting and exercise than John Gray. And I love the way he ties diet and exercise back into the health of relationships.

John Gray's Mars & Venus Diet & Exercise Solution is a breath of fresh air. As a practicing chiropractic physician for over thirty years I have stressed the importance of brain to tissue communication. John's physiological approach to brain chemistry is exciting. The diet and exercise program is unique and it's about time someone separated the genders for these programs.

Ten years after he revolutionized the way we think about how men and women communicate in romantic relationships, in Mars and Venus Diet and Exercise Solution, John Gray tells us how the sexes differ when it comes to diet, exercise, sex, depression, and particularly brain chemistry. Why is it that so many of us rely on pills, alcohol, and food to be happy? Why are so many Americans overweight? Why are ADD and divorce so prevalent? In this comprehensive, readable, and fascinating study, John Gray not only supplies intriguing answers but recipes, exercise plans, suggestions for energy-boosting, chemistry-altering foods that will become your lifeline to satisfying, passionate, and enduring relationships. Relationships are always a challenge for the two people involved, as they constantly change and grow. Gray clearly points out how emotions (which are hard to control) are affected by things we CAN control- nutritional supplements, diet, weight management, exercise, romance, stress and mood management. Each area impacts the other, and this book tells why and how men and women can work together to create a positive energy flow to maintain a joyous relationship.

A convincing explanation of the linkage between relationships, lifestyle, diet & healthy brain chemistry. It is also presents a good overview of the totally different results to these stimuli by men&women, highlighting the fact that most men do not have a clue about a woman's unique needs.
