Overview

The Mahabharata, an ancient and vast Sanskrit poem, is a remarkable collection of epics, legends, romances, theology, and ethical and metaphysical doctrine. The core of this great work is the epic struggle between five heroic brothers, the Pandavas, and their one hundred contentious cousins for rule of the land. This is the first volume in what will ultimately become a multi volume edition encompassing all eighteen books.

Amazing epic of India. Depicting the exile and eventual victory of the five Pandva brothers aided by Krishna. More absorbing than Homer's Illaid.

This is the best edition, it sure beats those condensed, abridged, mutalated editions. I mean how would you have the Judeo-Christian Bible in say 100 pages? You could have select stories but...Anyway I am enjoying it. I write small articles for a small newspaper, I've written one on the Ramayana, sort of book report, review, briefly retelling that story. And another on Arjuna brother of Yudhisthira the son of Dharma, really good entertainment. What would a movie look like? Thank you.
