I've already read all the works of Lang Leav, from her poetry books to her very first novel. In her last published book, Sea of Strangers, I mentioned that it is the best anthology she has written but with this new release, I think it might have surpassed the aforementioned because I think 80% of the content of this book is quite fabulous. I like that there is a lot of the poetry and prose in this collection that empowers readers, especially the women. Some of the poems and prose about love in the first several published books of the author, notably the ones she released from 2014 to 2016, made me cringe because I found them saccharine and too repetitive. But I reckon that Lang Leav learned a lot over time because she has improved a lot in her writing, which is quite noticeable in this anthology. I will purchase a physical copy of this once it is released because it is definitely a good book to add to my library.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher I was able to read this book in exchange for an honest review. **** This is not my first time reading Lang Leav’s work, at this point I think the only thing I haven’t read is her first novel. Love Looks Pretty on You is a collection of love in all its forms. Love of family, friends, partners, healthy love, broken love, lost love, etc. One of my favorite things about her prose is that despite how short her poems are, they’re not lacking at all in emotion. You get equal gut punch or soft ‘oh’ of wonder no matter the poem. My favorite of Leav’s collections is Lullabies, also the first one I read, coincidence?, but this comes in a close second. Highly recommend.

"Let her be herself. Or she will be somebody else" Lang Leav brings us with this Love Looks Pretty on You beautiful and touching poems about love and relationship of all kinds. Let's start with that I'm not a big on the poem scene, it's been years since I even picked up a book with a colletion of it, ever since school time. I still don't even know what pushed me to ask for the ARC of this book, but I'm glad whatever made me ask for it. It's pretty, is soulfull, at times sweet and at times hard. Soft. "Don't stay where you are neeed. Go where you are loved." It's totally a book I see myself re-reading time and time again when I feel the fells, and also gifting friends.
