Hot Rods, Book 8

Tom London has done a pretty damn good job. Despite an illness that stole his young wife years ago, he's raised his biological son, and several adopted ones, to be fine men. The Hot Rods might be unconventional, but they're hardworking, hard-playing, and hard-loving. Tom couldn't ask for anything more-except perhaps an equally fierce love of his own. And he's got his eye on a luscious candidate. Ms. Wilhelmina Brown, a longtime widow with more than enough sass in her step to take him on.

Willie has a lot in common with Tom. She's raised two wonderful daughters, both now married into the Hot Rods family, and lived through her own tragedy, having lost her husband in a horrific accident. More than two decades later, she and Tom still live with the ghosts of their pasts, but she'd have to be dead herself not to feel the man's effect on her libido. They already share a mutual respect; perhaps they can each be what the other needs in more tangible ways...

As Tom and Willie take one step closer, an explosive revelation shoots them several steps back. But that bombshell turns out to be just a precursor to something potentially worse...potentially deadly...and potentially enough to keep the mature lovers apart forever.

I've read several of Rylon's Tool series and this one was definitely not one of the best. Since the book is mainly about two people, why didn't we get more background information on why they are involved? What brought them to need this relationship? Outside of a few sentences, we know nothing about the couple's pasts. Almost as if the number of words was measured so as to not write more than 145 pages. Too bad that when you preorder a book you don't get to read a sample first. Never would have spent the money.

By. Donna Briody Buccella When you look up the definition of a Man, Tom London name is first. He is pure man, a real man!!! A man willing to sacrifice everything for the people he loves. Tom doesn't care if your his blood, his open door policy, meant you were safe, cared for and loved unconditionally no matter where you came from. He is sexy, sweet, loving, loyal, protective, accepting, honorable, fierce, and will love honor and protect what is his with his life!!!! His family is everything to him, it kept him going when times were rough. And now he has his Willy. I'm so happy for this beautiful man, I've loved him from the start, this group is blessed with Tom being Tom Love this series Loved loved loved this story

I have to start off with plainly stating you are never too old for love. The next installment in the Hod Rods series has Tom London and Wilhelmina ‘Willie’ Brown, both very close to their 50’s. They have both loved and lost and now they find themselves alone and want that companionship. Their children all grown up, some with children of their own even. Can they give in to their attraction and try to make a go at a relationship? They’ve certainly known each other for a long time, the connection being their children. But they find that age does play a part in finding and accepting love. What happens when circumstances beyond their control try to tear them apart, can they fight for this love that is just start to sprout? This story took me from funny points to serious points to wiping my tears points. You want a book with emotion, make sure you get your hands on this one. *ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Jayne Rylon is an excellent writer who pulls you in on the first page and keeps you turning the pages until the book ends. Long Time Coming is no exception. I really loved reading Tom and Willie's story, two people who have always been there for everyone else, but have had tragic pasts in the relationship department themselves. They have been friends for a while, but neither has pushed for more for their own personal reasons. That is until now. Their story shows you it is never too late to love again. Their story is fun, sexy, serious, life changing, scary, and includes every element it takes to make it a wonderful love story and one I highly recommend.

Book was ok but lacked depth and details. I think she's run out of ideas for this story line. Time to move onto another author

The eighth and final book of the Hot Rods series by Jayne Rylon finds the ‘parents” of the group, Tom London and Wilhelmina Brown finally have raised their sons and daughters and now have time to think about what they want for the rest of their life. Both have lost spouses through tragedy. Tom lost his young wife, Michelle, to cancer while “Willie” lost her husband, Steven, to an auto accident. Tom raised his son Eli and many foster sons and a daughter that all work together at Hot Rods, an auto restoration shop. Willie has raised two wonderful daughters who recently married into the Hot Rod family. The Browns have been through many hardships including homelessness and poverty to become a wonderful family with a bright future. Since Willie’s daughter Nola became involved with Nova, one of Tom’s foster sons. Once Tom and Willie met, they started co-parenting their blended families. As time passed, they realized that there was an attraction between them that they thought they would never experience after losing their soul mates. As with any romance, there are things that both Tom and Willie must work through. Even with the strong physical attraction, they questioned whether they were ready to their pasts behind and start anew. Their children helped them find a way to honor the past and work towards the future. Tom and Willie stood together dealing with a couple of large issues to find their happy ever after. Jayne Rylon is one of my favorite authors and I jumped at the chance to review this book. Although it can be read as a stand alone book, I was glad that I had read the previous books to help me understand the Hot Rod family dynamics. I do hope that we may see a novella in the future that updates us on the Hot Rods. A perfect ending to a wonderful series. Thank you, Jayne.

The Hot Rod series has been such a great series. I was thrilled to see Tom and Willie get their own story. Tom has always been the one person the crew has turned to for support and advice. Now the tables are turned when he decides to become more than friends with Willie. Tom and Willie met through their children and we have seen a strong friendship develop between these two people and seen their friendship turn into love. Tom is so patient and strong. I fell a little in love with him myself. Willie is a strong and fierce woman you can't help but admire. It was such a treat to see Tom and Willie as two passionate people and not just the role models for the Hot Rod crew. Ms. Rylon kept me on my toes with this book.

This was an emotional ending to a spicy series. Tom needed this book as did I. I love how Jayne included everyone from the HotRods and with a possibility of more to come. This book will make you laugh, cry and beg for more. I'm excited to see what's coming next!
