Laguna Lights

Laura Kinkaid's glamorous Hollywood life is falling apart. After years of reality television stardom beginning in high school on Laguna Nights, her career and relationship with her long-term boyfriend Scott are fizzling out. Laura decides to go home to Laguna Beach for the weekend to attend a baby shower for her high school friend. That decision - and a car accident - will lead her to a new future, if she's ready to take a chance at love.

Paul Dorn's former life in New York City is far behind him and he's working in a popular Laguna Beach surf shop when fate brings the most beautiful woman he's ever met into his life. The attraction is instant and he has an overwhelming desire to protect her. While Paul's retail sales career is a short-term job for market research purposes, his focus on Laura is long-term.

Will Laura allow a handsome stranger to help her create a future unlike her past, or will the bright lights of Hollywood pull her back to LA?

Great read This is the third book in this series. Laura is the "mean" girl from two hit reality tv series and she was the producer another reality tv series that was just canceled. Once that show gets cancelled she also realizes that her longtime on again off again boyfriend from the reality tv shows is cheating on her and his star is rising. He breaks up with her and she goes back to her home town where it all began, where she meets Paul who knows nothing of her life. Can they really make things work. This is a great read you start off questioning if you really are going to like Laura, can you trust Paul, some suspense. The connection of these two is great. Keira Rouda has another great read here in this series.

Book 3 in the Laguna Beach series .. I have read them all in quick succession so I could keep on top of the storyline/characters but they can all be read as stand-alone, the back story may beneficial though. It’s Laura’s turn in the spotlight .. another ex-reality star. She finds herself alone & not sure what to do so returns to the beach. She isn’t a particularly nice person (spoilt bitch) much like all those in the land of make believe tv shows. She has a car accident & happens to meet Paul .. I found him a much nicer person, living in the reality of working in a store & having to cope with ‘customers’ who don’t appreciate manners cost nothing! It was nice to have this side of the story included. There is romance, a fairly good story line but it gets a little confusing in some places, tends to jump time .. I do feel as though I have had my fill of these characters now & will leave them to their lives in La,La Land! Thanks to the author & Pump Up Your Book Tours for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest review.

This is a very quick read and begins with two people calling it quits after a long romance that started in high school. Scott and Laura have been living the fast pace life of Hollywood, and as stars. Laura’s star has faded a bit, but Scott is still rising, and he is now looking elsewhere. What would you do if you were in a long-term relationship and it ended? Why head back home to Laguna Beach, and that is where life takes a complete turn for Laura. You need to pick this one up that is full of surprises and fate, and a mother who won’t give up and hopes to bring Scott back into Laura’s life. There are some x-rated scenes in this book, which is not my typical read, and the story for me would have been good without the added sex. Guess that is what sells for some people, not me. I received this book through Pump Up Your Book and was not required to give a positive review.

This series has become a favorite of mine. I really love the way the characters have developed and how ones from other books in series are brought back. It is a fun read that went fast for me. I think the characters have been very well written and the story is a good one. This has been a series that I am enjoying a lot. The romance and the Hollywood factor are exciting to me. I like how the two intertwine and become a great story. Laura finds a man but has to chose. You have to read to know what happens.

After falling in love with Annie and Hank, I wasn't so sure if I would like having to read about the mean girl of the bunch. I have always believed that people are who they are and there isn't much wiggle room for change after the teen years. Laura proved me wrong. For reality show purposes, Laura created a persona that wasn't exactly attractive. As the years progressed, that persona overtook Laura's life and she ends up on a path that she's not even remotely happy with - but is it too late for her to save her own life? She returns home for a baby shower and life is changed in a flash. She ends things with her long-term, jerk of a boyfriend and soon thereafter, she finds the perfect man. I can relate to her resistance as I met my own husband soon after I divorced my first husband. Laura and Paul connect on a level that she never had before with Scott but will fate let them actually be together? Her meddling mother irritated me because sometimes, we grow up and know what is best for ourselves. As a parent, it's easy to get caught up in what looks pretty but we have to learn to cut those apron ties! Lessons learned on our own are the best way for them to stick. Laura does a lot of self-discovering and I love how strong she is; however, she becomes total mush with Paul (but who couldn't??!!). This can be read as a stand-alone but I don't recommend it. I think by reading the first two books in the series, you get good background information as well as a pre-formed opinion of Laura that helps you appreciate her character a little more! I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

I fell in love with Laguna Heights and this group of now grown up high school friends in the very first book of this series. That said, any of the three, including Laguna Lights can be read as a stand alone. Do not cheat yourself, though, and read the whole series. Laura was probably my least favorite character in previous books but seeing more into her in this book makes her much more likable. Kaira Rouda does a great job making characters believable. Most are people I would want to sit down and have a beer or glass of wine with as we talk about our lives. Paul, who was not in the high school group that most of the other characters were, brings out a more human side to Laura as well as a loving side. The beautiful setting of the coastal town of Laguna Heights again draws me to the California coast. I am, admittedly, a mountain girl in most cases. Laguna Heights would be the exception. It makes me want to jump in a plane and head west to the coast. I recommend you pick this book up and read it along with books one and two in the series.

This is a light and frothy enjoyable romance with characters who'll remind you of your favourites in Reality TV shows. The book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone story. When ex-reality star Laura meets handsome surf-wear designer Paul after her life in LA implodes, the die is cast for a whirlwind romance which turns into something which changes the course of both their lives. In fact, their romance is so perfect I spent most of the novel waiting for something terrible to happen. There are one or two challenges but I won't spoil the story for you. If you like your romances with a little more depth and action, this may not be for you. The sex scenes are also pretty explicit which I felt was unnecessary in places. But, as an entertaining romantic tale to while away an hour or two, this is perfect.

This is a great book. While I have yet to pick up the rest of the books in the series you can be sure that I will be doing so in the near future! With that being said, you can read this book as a standalone but it is a part of a greater series which features different characters in each. Enjoy the sun? The beach? Paddle boarders? How about that beloved series on MTV called Laguna Beach? If your answer to these questions is YES (like me) than this is definitely a book you will want to pick up. It is thoroughly enjoyable and very sexy! Laura Kincaid’s life used to be so glamorous. She was after all, a reality TV star not too long ago (or was it?). After breaking up with her longtime boyfriend Scott; fellow reality star, Laura heads back to where it all began- Laguna Beach. But she gets more than she bargained for after a fender-bender when a sexy man named Paul comes to her aid. Is love at first sight real? Or will reality come crashing back down on her? You’ll have to read and find out! Once again this is a great story. It is enjoyable, hard to put down, and leaves readers satisfied. If you haven’t picked up a book by this author than I think you should. You will not be disappointed! This would be the perfect book to turn into a TV series (hint hint).  Grab this one readers, you will love it!

I've been curious how Laguna Lights would turn out with Laura's story ever since Laguna Nights came out where Laura had messed with Madison's life. Laura created her Reality TV Persona back in high school when her and many of her classmates were on reality tv show called Laguna Nights. Years after the show had ended, Laura's found that she's become that persona, even off set from any tv show. Talk about waking up from a nightmare if that's someone you've never truly wanted to become. After finding out her long-term boyfriend from high school has been looking up other women, Laura's finding herself questioning her own happiness. She's finally realizing she's been chasing after a dream that wasn't even hers, rather than focusing on her own happiness. After a crash meeting with Paul Dorn, a worker at a surf shop in Laguna Beach studying the marketing of his own products, Laura questions whether she wants to keep chasing that dream or focus on her own happiness. Throughout the story, Laura's mother got on my nerves. At one point, Laura's mother tried to get Laura back with her long-time boyfriend, Scott, who Laura recently split with, even though Scott had been looking for other women while being with Laura, rather than focusing on what would make Laura happy. It seems like Laura's mother doubted Laura's own ability to provide for herself. There was one incident in the book that confused me at first. At one chapter, Laura and Paul had just met a few days ago. The next chapter jumped to two weeks later. All the rest of the chapters after listed the time period or how much time has passed from the previous chapter to the new one. I was very pleased with how Laura's story turned out. I enjoyed reading from Laura's point of view. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

If you follow me then you know that Kaira Rouda is one of my favorite authors. This is the 3rd book of this series that I’ve read and once again I was trapped from the beginning. I love it when I find a book that I just can’t put down so I end up reading it cover to cover. The story is beautiful, Laura meets the perfect man. It’s a meeting that totally happens by accident. I think that those are the best! Is Laura’s bitterness finally going to end? You’ll just have to read this book to find out! Trust me you won’t be disappointed!! I did receive this product discounted or free of charge in exchange for a review, however all opinions are 100% honest based on my own experience.

4.5 stars I loved the first two books of this series but I fear that this one would not be exciting because I didn't like the protagonist in the first book: she was really hateful. Instead it was an enjoyable and funny read and I got to know a new Laura, much more cute and nice. Laura and Scott met on the set of the famous reality show Laguna Nights. They have been together ten years and have tried to succeed in Hollywood. But the great success has not arrived and Scott is so changed that Laura no longer recognizes him and above can no longer tolerate him. They know that their story is over. She's alone in Los Angeles, without a job and above all without more dreams to be realized. There is only one thing to do: go back a few days at home in Laguna Beach. Just arrived in town she has a bad accident. Fortunately there is Paul to help her. They start dating and find they are much more alike than they think. It 's time to return home permanently? Paul is the right one? I love this series, each book is so romantic, easy to read with characters very realistic which is really easy to be able to empathize. Not to mention the wonderful place where everything takes place: Laguna Beach is really enchanting. Laura and Paul are a great couple and it was nice to live the change of Laura: she is no longer the most famous and hateful star of a reality show but a simple and fallen in love woman. I highly recommend this book, as well as all the others in this series

If this series isn't made into either a TV soap opera or a movie it will be a shame. Laura, who has hit the top of her career in Hollywood and is now definitely sinking fast has to rethink her life. She isn't really what her persona is in the Reality Shows she has both acted in and produced-But now she has to convince herself and everyone else of that. She has a lot of fences to mend!! Scott--her on again off again boyfriend of 10 years-well his star is rising and rising fast. After he breaks up with Laura she takes herself and her little dog back home to Laguna Beach in hopes of finding herself, regaining old friendships and just hoping to find a new direction in life. The traffic is horrendous and she gets hit from behind and hits the car in front. A man comes from one of the stores and rescues her (and the dog)---but who is he and how will he figure into Laura's new life? Read the book and find out!!

Laura (how can I not love a character with my own name??) was the bad girl in their high school reality TV show. After all, every reality show has to have someone you just love to hate! Back in the day Laura was known for stealing boyfriends. Now the table has turned and she is the one scorned. My absolute favorite character in Laguna Lights is Tucker. Tucker is the best dog ever! Loyal and smart is a winning combo in a mini-sized dog. Laura is smart to trust Tucker's instincts. You wouldn't think a dog could be so central in a story about redeeming your life, but Tucker steals the show.

This is the 3rd book in the Laguna Beach series. I've read all 3. I loved reading about Laura and seeing a different side of her. In the previous 2 books she came across as a bitter witch. Laura was the true definition of "mean girl". In this book Laura is trying to start over after ending things with her long term on again off again boyfriend. She meets the perfect man by accident. Sometimes things are just meant to happen the way they happen. Paul moves to Laugna Beach to start his life over as well. When he first meets Laura he has no idea she was a local celebrity. That has nothing to do with his attraction to her though. This is a sweet love story that I got caught up in from page 1 as usual. I received this item for free or a reduced rate in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions in this review are 100% my own.

Laura Kincaid, an alum of the debut reality tv show Laguna Nights, has seen the most success following their run, even becoming a producer of her own reality series reuniting two of her alums. Now Laura is in a rut, she is no longer Hollywood material, her longtime boyfriend has left her, and she has no idea what's next for her. To attend her former castmate's baby shower, Laura returns to her home of Laguna Beach and runs into new resident Paul Dorn following an car accident in front of the surf store where he works. There is an instant attraction between Laura and Paul, and their occupations and past doesn't have an impact on the potential relationship that will develop. This story reinforces that there's always another chance at love, and that it is never too late to start over and be truly happy.

This is a really great homage to reality TV. I loved experiencing Laura’s life now that her reality TV show is over. Who is Laura? What does she really want to do with her life? This is a fabulous journey as she heads back home to Laguna Beach and crosses paths with successful businessman Paul. She hasn’t ever dated anyone like Paul who really helps her branch out and look inward at who she is and what she wants. Paul is building a new business and when Laura ends up on the outside his shop in crisis, he can’t resist helping her. He is shocked by the pull she has over him. Is he ready for another relationship after his failed marriage? Can he open his heart again? Two lost souls just might find the solace they need with each other.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review..... Heartbreaking, inspired, and moving. Laura Kinkaid the notorious Star of Laguna Nights who parlayed that into a reality career as far as it would go. Now she's a wanna be actress who just wants to go home. Her long time boyfriend Scott has finally landed a role on daytime Soaps and is ready to leave her behind. Laura is off to Laguna for the weekend and decides it might be forever. Scott has already replaced her with someone else. Paul Dorn is a designer and has created his own brand of surf wear for men of that certain age. He is testing it at The Surf Shack and he also thought he would work there to get to know his clientele. Can a fateful meeting turn into something special? You never know what will happen until you open yourself up to it.

Laura and Scott started their acting careers on the Laguna Nights television series. They then moved to Hollywood together and furthered their acting portfolios. Now ten years later they have grown apart. As Laura returns home to Laguna Beach for the weekend, she is involved in an accident and is rescued by Paul, who works at the local surf shop. They begin dating and discover they have a lot in common personally as well as professionally. Having read the first two in this series, I really didn’t think I could grow warm toward Laura. It didn’t take long to change my mind though. Laura totally redeemed herself. I loved these characters. They fit so well together. It’s been a joy reading each one of the characters’ stories in this series. They have all told a different story.

The road less traveled leads to treasures unparalleled. At one time Laura had it all. Living the high life this "It" girl wanted for nothing. Now with her life falling apart she returns to the place she took for granted and that may hold the key to the happiness she's been looking for. Paul seems to be living the perfect life. Happy, fulfilling and simple, but looks can be deceiving. Everyone has secrets. I received an ARC of Laguna Lights in exchange for an honest review. With Paul and Laura's story, Ms. Rouda drove home the point that happiness is not derived from how much a person materially has but the wisdom and experiences gained from the life one lives. I am enjoying the Laguna Beach Series but Laguna Lights is my favorite story to date.

Laguna Lights is a story of redemption and coming home. Laura was the girl you loved to hate in Laguna Nights. But in typical fashion, what you see is NOT what you get. She's unhappy with her life in Hollywood and comes home to Laguna Beach for what is supposed to be a weekend - and then she meets Paul. She's a complicated character who is trying not to be the person everyone sees her to be - she wants them to see her like she sees herself. But, she's also scared. Paul is running from what he was in New York. He's pursuing his own dream and meets Laura - and falls hard from the very beginning. He's hiding who he is because he's tired of being wanted for what he has instead of who he is. In that way, these two characters are perfect for each other. There is a bit of intrigue, a lot of emotion, and a bit of intimacy and Paul and Laura finally get their happily-ever-after. And let's not forget Tucker - he plays a prominent role in this story!! The story moves at a good pace and was easy to follow and fun to read.

Initially I was excited to read the newest book in the Laguna Beach series, but when I discovered that Laura was the main character I almost changed my mind about reading it. I disliked Laura so much during the previous two books, so I couldn't imagine reading a whole story about her. Boy was I wrong! Laura and Paul's story was heartfelt, it was sweet and funny, with a little bit of weirdness and a lot of surprises! I love that both Laura and Paul are restarting their lives, and that Laura has decided to reconnect with her Laguna Nights friends (and frenemies). I really enjoyed the continuing story of the town and its inhabitants. This book can definitely be read on its own, but you'll enjoy it so much more if you read Laguna Nights and Laguna Heights first. *I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
