Interesting, but not insightful. I didn't entirely "dislike" it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Honestly, this book, in my opinion, is indicative of the poverty of spirituality in so much of the West.

Straightforward and helpful discussion of practical Christian theology and life, targeted towards an intellectual, even skeptical, audience.

Dr. McGrath has scored another home run with "Knowing Christ". Drawing upon his extensive personal experience he covers a number of helpful suggestions for those seeking to follow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Although McGrath admits a scholarly tendency toward the use of reason he strikes an excellent balance between reason and the more mystical aspects of discipleship. The book is of great value to those of us who attempt to integrate our Sunday religious experience with our daily work week.
