CHAPTER 1

Daddy always gives me hugs when I'm sad and blue, and he never lets me go to bed without saying "I love you," but sometimes I wonder....

What if I was a mouse, who was as quiet as a warm summer day breeze, scampering swiftly through the house, looking for crumbs and large chunks of cheese?

Would you still love me Daddy? "Yes, baby girl, I would."

What if I were a turtle that lit up like a lightening-bug, who croaked like a frog, slower than a snail posted on a log?"

Would you still love me Daddy? "Yes, baby girl, I would."

What if I were a bird, flying high and flapping my wings, being too busy to care about the little things?

Would you still love me Daddy?

"Yes, baby girl, I would."

What if I was a monkey, who didn't swing from tree to tree, and in the great rainforest, only loved the deep blue sea?

Would you still love me Daddy? "Yes, baby girl, I would."

What if I was a horse, who kneed and gnawed and neighed, who ate green apples, and always liked to play?

Would you still love me Daddy? "Yes, baby girl, I would."

What if I was a blue bear that seemed so grumpy and mean, but every time you hugged me, I turned fluffy, happy and green?

Would you still love me Daddy? "Yes, baby girl, I would."

What if I was a lion, who roared as loud as thunder, hunting from cave to cave, and when the zoo captured me, I never liked to behave?

Would you still love me Daddy? "Yes, baby girl, I would."
