Overview

New York Times Bestseller!

In Jesus on Trial, David Limbaugh applies his lifetime of legal experience to a unique new undertaking: making a case for the gospels as hard evidence of the life and work of Jesus Christ. Limbaugh, a practicing attorney and former professor of law, approaches the canonical gospels with the same level of scrutiny he would apply to any legal document and asks all the necessary questions about the story of Jesus told through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. His analysis of the texts becomes profoundly personal as he reflects on his own spiritual and intellectual odyssey from determined skeptic to devout Christian. Ultimately, Limbaugh concludes that the words Christians have treasured for centuries stand up to his exhaustive inquiry—including his examination of historical and religious evidence beyond the gospels—and thereby affirms Christian faith, spirituality, and tradition.

This was a life changing read for me. It clearly posed and answered questions about our Christian foundation. For the first time in my life I feel I can have the ability to put forth a cogent and defensible testimony about why Christianity is the one and only road to Eternal life. I am determined to put God first in my life above all other things and am now 100% convinced of the authenticity of everything in the bible for the first time. Please read this book for your sake. ...

I heard of this book because the NY Times was shunning it from bestseller status. An interesting premise, and well written.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. David Limbaugh takes the reader through the journey he took to go from skeptic to believer. It isn't intended to be an exhaustive review of all the proofs that Jesus Christ is God and the Bible is God's Word. But he is relating the information he found that influenced him in his search for the truth. I bought the Nook version but kind of wish I had gotten a hard copy. It would make a great reference book. Thank you Mr Limbaugh for writing this book.

I want to read this book but you can buy it for 15 bucks at Costco. Not sure why it is so much to read it on my Nook

The Bible is the true Word of God. Both the Old and New Testaments provide absolute evidence of God’s Word as truth, the way, and life. For those who doubt this to any degree, than the Bible and JESUS ON TRIAL are not choices you should make. I firmly believe that it was God’s intervention with the writers of the Bible that has made it the authoritative Word of God. JESUS ON TRIAL is an impressive scholarly work; however, I am somewhat disappointed that Mr. Limbaugh did not delve more into the explanations and examples that he has cited from the Bible. JESUS ON TRIAL is an excellent read for those interested in this subject, but again, not as thorough as I had hoped.

I was skeptical, too.  Loved this book.  Written logically and openly.  Recommend for believers and non alike.

I am giving his 5 stars though I only just ordered the book. I looked at the reviews to find out what people thought of the book....IT'S CONTENT! It is very annoying when people give the book very low ratings BASED SOLELY ON THE FACT THAT THE NOOK VERSION COST MORE THAN THE HARDCOVER. You don't review a book based on that. Take that up with corporate. I want to know about what's IN the book, not the cost. It's ridiculous. Barnes and Noble pricing has zero to do with the content of the book.

Why in the world is the electronic version of this book so much more expensive than either the hardcover or paperback?!?!?! Even Mr. Limbaugh's new book is less expensive than this one! I'm no financial wizard, but I do work in retail/marketing/merchandising, and I know that the older product tends to go down in price!

When I purchased this book I was looking forward to proofs based on the rules of evidence but the author does little more than cite Bible verses to verify the truth of the Bible.  Such evidence would be worthless in a courtroom.  It is like having the accusedgive evidence to his innocence  by quoting his own writing.  Not at all what I expected.  Actually this reads like a Bible Commentary.

While the writing is as intelligent at anything David Limbaugh has written, I have to say that given the Bible's authors penned their books long after the death of the supposed Jesus, there is no evidence to prove that such a person existed. That being said, the Bible is false, not to mention woefully out of date with the times. I am no closer to believing in imaginary deities than I was before. Each of the miracles attributed to a God or a Jesus was first told in the mythological texts of previous beliefs.
