Overview

A tale of modern-day horror from award-winning novelist Vincent H. O'Neil:

In Providence, Rhode Island, graduate student Angie Morse has discovered evidence that an ancient stone obelisk worshiped by a colonial-era cult is still in existence. Hoping to finish her studies with a career-boosting headline, she's combing the woods to find it.

As she digs into the history of the obelisk and the cult that perished at its feet, she's plagued by bizarre events and shadowy figures from her college days. The more time she spends in the ghostly forests outside the city, the more Angie starts to suspect the obelisk is exerting the same influence on her that doomed so many others.

Excellent book that's hard to put down. I found myself wondering what was next each time I had to stop for a while, and looked for an excuse to pick this book up again as soon as possible.

Although this story is set in the modern era, it is still very Lovecraftian in its tone and setting, with hints of madness caused by ancient inhuman horrors that lurk in the wilderness just outside a seemingly quiet and peaceful New England town. A quick, engaging late-night page turner!

I thought this been was a bit flat. Maybe if the characters were better developed...I just didn't care for it, but I forced myself to finish it.

A good story. The premise is good. Angie is strong. But the story wanders at tim es. Things are repeated to often. It could have been more concise.

Interesting, but a tough read. Ending was so drawn out to get to, then so whirlwind to wrap up. Meh is the best I can say.

Don't bother.

A little boring and probably would not have finished the book except I try to stick with a book once I start. No typos or gramar errors. Just not a fun book to read.

This book is so poorly written that it is the first one I will actually delete from my library which has over 200 books in it. Couldn't even finish it.
