Alternating between the present and 200 years in the past, Indomitable is a novella told entirely from the perspective of Jonas, the tall, dark, and dangerous vampire from the highly rated Intangible Series. Ever wondered how Jonas came to be the man-monster he is today? This is how.

Perhaps the most dangerous person to gain unimaginable power is the one who feels oppressed.

And full of wrath. For very good reason.

Intangible (Book One) and Imaginable (Book Two) are available now. Book Three coming late 2015.

Indomitable was a short story about Jonas, a vampire in Intangible. He was one of my favorite characters in Intangible, so I jumped on the chance to get to know more about his past and Indomitable did not disappoint. The writing was descriptive and I thought the backstory was incredibly creative and unique. I feel like I know Jonas a little better and I know why he was chosen so many years ago by his maker. J. Meyers has managed to impress me with everything I've read. I come across supernatural beings I've seen before in her books, but they are different and unique in their own way, which was one of the reasons I rated Intangible so highly when I read it. Jonas isn't a typical vampire with a typical history that I've encountered before. The only negative thing I can say about the novella is that it was short and I wanted more. Which is not a bad thing at all. It's not so short it's not worth buying, it just makes me want to reread Intangible or pick up some of the other novellas in the series!

This is great start to the Intangible Series. You get your first peak at Jonas here and see how he functions in the present time. You also get get quite the look at him when he was human. I'm honestly surprised Jonas feels as he does toward humans after all he'd been through in his life. A lesser being would have been lost forever, yet Jonas somehow found his way back. The Realm is described in such vivid detail you can almost smell the air there if you try hard enough. Lilith, while we all know she's the mother of all vampires. I have to ask what happened to the first she sired. The rumors buzz about Jonas being Lilith's chyld like it's a shock, yet how are all the others that follow her there if they weren't sired by her. Surely there must have been one or more Jonas that was sired by Lilith to make the rest. As early as 50 years prior to Jonas since Adrian had only been turned 50 year before they meet. Regardless of whether or not you're a fan of the series, or like me, just discovering it? You'll fall in love from the first sentence. This is Jonas' story ... and it's sooooo very, very, very incredible!!!  You could definitely read this anytime, before/after/during Intuition and/or Intangible, just be prepared to want more of the Intangible Series!!!  If you don't know about the series, see my reviews of Intuition and Intangible on my blog Known to Read, but don't worry about this review spoiling anything for those books. So Jonas is a pretty mysterious (and oh so sexy) guy -- oh yeah, he's a vampire, too.  We meet him in Intangible and are given some hints about his past and his thoughts on and history with Sera.  In Indomitable we get to spend time in Jonas' head and we get to know his past.  I'm not one to spoil and Indomitable is only 50 pages long, so I'm not going to go into any details; just know this is an incredible, incredible novella and YOU WANT TO READ THIS!!!!  Abso-freakin-lutely!!!   I did purchase this ebook on another site and was not paid in any way for this review.  See more of my reviews on my blogspot blog, Known to Read.

5 Stars This is the prequel of Intangible, and it's AMAZING! This GREAT little short story is of Jonas and how he became to be and what he had to go through in his human life to his vampire life! I've always had a soft spot for Jonas. In the first book Intangible, he was such a strong, important character and I always felt Jonas would do to great this in this series! I always secretly hoped for something more between Jonas and Sera, and I'm praying we get to see that in the second book in the series! This book takes you back and forth through the present and past time, and what Jonas went through in them times! The book starts with Jonas already a vampire in the present time and it show his struggles through day to day while he's having flashbacks when he was a slave and how he was turned into a vampire. Jonas is struggling with his sisters death over 200 hundred years ago and can still hear her screams. It haunts him everyday, while he's reliving the day of her death over and over again! Jonas may seem hard on the outside but Jonas is really a big softy in the inside! Jonas has dedicated his vampire life to protect the innocent, including the prophesied twins, Sera the healer and her brother Luke the seer! This is A MUST READ for ALL Intangible fans! You definitely don't want to miss Jonas's story! When this was over I wanted MORE of Jonas and how he became the man or should I say vampire is his today!

I received a copy of this story from the author in exchange for an honest review. Wow! This was a hard hitting, emotional punch in the gut kind of read. I've always been curious about Jonas's backstory and by taking a look into his past, I was given a lot of insight into his present actions and motivations. What he went through in his human life before becoming a vampire was shocking and knowing similar events happened in real life during that period of time in this country is difficult to read about let alone imagine. I couldn't help but shudder. I can completely see how Jonas becomes the way he is now, and he's become even more likable to me. I've always had a soft spot for him. The action alternates between the past and present, and you can see how his past has affected him. There isn't much diversity in the YA genre, in my opinion, and so it's refreshing to have a major character such as Jonas of a race other than white--he's African American. He's intriguing, conflicted, and complex, and I just really love trying to figure him out. He's an enigma--there are so many layers to him just waiting to be peeled back...I love it! This is an action-packed, fast paced story that gives us a look from Jonas's perspective and tides us readers over until the next novel comes out. I'm counting down the days in the meantime!! :)

INDOMITABLE is a day in the life and shoes of Jona's - a powerful vampire that was expected to kill the prophesied twins when they were babies. But, Jonas doesn't hurt innocents.... but why? Jona's is one of the most powerful vampires who claims to not have a care in the world. So why did he spare these babies... and why didn't he do anything to them as teens in INTANGIBLE??? In INDOMITABLE, we find out why. We are brought back to what happened to him and his sister all those years ago. How he was created. What he did. And what his purpose was going to be. It's heartbreaking. I needed tissues. I liked Jonas' character already - and now, my heart aches for him. And I cannot wait to read more about him. It is not necessary to read this before INTANGIBLE. But, I'm sure that after you do read INTANGIBLE, you are going to want more of Jonas and how he came to be. I am really looking forward to book two to this series! I don't read or follow many self-published authors, but I do know that wherever J. Meyers publishes it will always be on the top of my list!
