This is a wonderful illustration of how to translate a work from one language to another without losing meaning, and the art of maintaining meter and rhyme.

I teach Spanish in High School and read this book aloud to my students. They loved the chance to'kick back' and relax while they soaked up the Spanish. My daughter just entered a Spanish Immersion kindergarten and she also loves hearing the book. I've been encouraging her to point out the words she recognizes. So, the book works for many ages. As far as the writing goes, the rhyming was well adapted to Spanish.
