Overview

This up-to-date version of the universally accepted text from the King James Bible will make a handsome addition to any home. The revised translation is easily accessible for the modern reader, and is based on the original King James Version, published in 1611. In the course of time, the King James Version came to be regarded as "the Authorized Version." It has been termed "the noblest monument of English prose," and it has come to be of central importance to Western society as no other book. Thunder Bay's Holy Bible is beautifully appointed and illustrated with reproductions of original fifteenth-century masterpieces, highlighting Renaissance masterpieces from the period of 1430 to 1510. Almost every page of the Holy Bible has illuminated accents, with evocative drawings throughout from the Vatican Library, and an overall design inspired by the peerless Urbino Bible of 1478. The Holy Bible is complete with beautiful pages on which to lovingly record marriages, births, baptisms, confirmations, deaths, and family trees.

I purchased this from New York on holiday. The heirloom quality on archival paper is good to touch and admire. The full colour illistrations are second to none. It is truly magnificent as you can hand it down to your family from generation to generation. It is the best I have laid my eyes on. You can judge for yourself, it is a treasure to behold.

Far from fiction. The Bible is God's word. If we all followed His teachings, imagine how our world would be!

Fiction or not, the world would be a much better place if the teachings of love expressed in the Bible were followed.

This is the least ficticious book I have ever encountered. Through its pages I have managed to change my life. I have felt anchored in the world. It is ornately covered, and is truly a book to pass down among generations. The message of Jesus in the New Testament is in this book, from Matthew to Psalms. The Old Testament is here - Genesis, Ruth, and all of the others. For all of the non-believers out there, read this book. It changed my life, and it can change yours. Remember also, that the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Don't hate God, or attribute His works to Satan... it is the only thing you can do that will cause you to forfeit salvation forever.

After studying religions and researching theology and philosophy incessantly, I observed that many of the creeds of the great sages are similar but there is an undeniable force that points to Christ. Despite the barbaric language of the scribes who documented his words and the sometimes erroneous ways he was perceived, I filtered an inspirational truth message from the gospels. History states that there was a writer during Christ¿s lifetime who wrote down many of the things he said with no commentary. This was called the Quelle, a German word for ¿source.¿ Later the documented sayings of Christ was known simply as ¿Q.¿ It does not currently exist independently, but was used to write the text of the gospels, written many years after Christ¿s death. Although I have studied the remainder of the Bible thoroughly, I conclude that it is a collage of history, myth, parables, dreams¿people seeking and perceiving God in many ways. I usually put these in the fiction section of bookstores; where they belong.
