To Hell In A Hand Basket Devilish Debutantes, Book 2 Annabelle Anders, author What a ride this story-line takes the reader on! Wow! Love, trust, secrets, betrayal and adventure!!! This, the second novel, in Ms. Anders Devilish Debutantes series was simply engrossing. I didn't want to put the book down. It dealt with one issue after another for the heroine, Sophie Babineaux. What strength this amazing young woman demonstrated. The opening scene occurred with a bang and somewhat tense. But oh, did Sophie get the much needed help from one handsome, muscled and strong, Captain Delvin Brookes. Hummmm.... will there be more of these two in this novel? There are many dynamics to this story-line. The trust and strong friendships between Sophia and Rhoda, the arranged marriage for Sophie and Lord Harold Brookes of Prescott; (but whoops, Sophie doesn't realize this at first), the secret she carries with her and oh those secrets to come as the story evolves. Now, Sophie thinks the Lord of Prescott loves her and believes herself to be in love with him. But oh, how the web is spun in this story. Nope, that's enough of a teaser folks. Read this intense, intriguing and delicious story to fine the answers for yourself. Will Sophia learn the truth before she actually walks down the isle to wed Lord Harold? Will be live happily ever after? I can hardly wait for the next novel in this series. Ms. Anders has certainly gotten off to a great start with her first two novels in this series. She maintains true to the Regency era with her character development and their mannerisms, as well as, the correct use of period language and happenstance. This was such an enjoyable, yet at times, emotional, easy, flowing read.

Hell in a Handbasket is book two of the Devilish Debutantes series by Annabelle Anders. These books just keep getting better and better. Miss Sophia Babineaux is betrothed. But her life is turned upside down when she narrowly escapes death one day and is rescued by Captain Devlin Brooks. This story has one of the most heart pounding kissing scenes I have ever read. I can’t wait for book three in the series. Bravo Ms. Anders!

I love regency romance. Specifically the heroines. Despite social restrictions and the prejudices of the time, the courage these women find in themselves to rise above the norm is an example every woman should aspire to. Hell in a Hand Basket is tale of three people finding the strength to be bold. A woman yearning to follow her heart. A man struggling to find his voice and a Captain searching for a new beginning. Sophia, Harold and Dev find themselves in a complicated dance of hearts. Others are pulling the strings each is struggling to break free of the ties that bind them. Through the scheming and dreaming emerges a tale of heartbreak and intrigue that reads like a soap opera. The twists are endless but the endgame is worth the chase.

"Hell in a Hand Basket" by Annabelle Anders 2018 #2 in the Devilish Debutantes series. This is Captain Devlin Brooks and Sophia Babineaux story. This story starts out with a tipping cage with a wild lion inside. Captain Brooks jumps to the rescue, securing the wheels and climbing behind to console Sophia who was trapped. He did a bit more then console her and Sophia found herself REALLY kissed for the first time in her life. "I won't let that lion hurt you, little one." Those were the words that sent Sophia more than halfway in love with Captain Brooks. After being kissed thoroughly, Sophia says to Devlin. " I don't know what my fiancee will think about all this." That is not the only problem that Sophia and Devlin will face. There are "Secrets" and deceptions and deaths. Not a dull moment and plenty of emotions dancing around on the pages. Don't miss this one!. Annabelle Anders's stories are getting better and better. Be sure to read the first book in the series "Hell Hath No Fury". Happy Reading!

Sophia is the second of a group of four wallflower friends to get married. Unfortunately, her marriage isn't any happier than her friend Cecily's. While she thought she loved her fiance and that he loved her, all that flies out the window when she meets his cousin, Captain Devlin Brookes. That situation sounds familiar when dealing with Regency stories, but there are a number of unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing about how Sophia and Dev could end up together. Despite elaborate plans to bring about a happy solution, nothing turns out as planned and all the characters are really put through the wringer. The rest of the girls in this series better watch out when making their own wedding plans! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

I have been anticipating this story since I read the first in this series, Hell Hath No Fury. Thinking there was no way it could be as great as that one, boy was I wrong!! When your first scene involves our heroine Sophia, her small dog Peaches and a Lion in a cage falling over and trapping her, what more can you ask for? A hero to rescue you of course by the name of Captain Devlin Brookes!! That was really a strange way to meet but it was destiny. There was an immediate attraction when he kissed her.. yes he did! The descriptions and visuals that the author gives you is priceless because I could see it happening! Devlin and Sophia manage to meet again several times and Sophia decides to stop her wedding due to the feelings they develop for each other. This is the story of an arranged marriage with Sophia feeling her betrothed, Lord Harold loved her and she had great affection for him until she met Devlin and realized how it could be. Funny how things play out though and in the end, Sophia was basically being forced into marriage due to money. In a twist that can only happen when meant to be, Sophia learns that Devlin is actually Harold's cousin and nephew of the Duke, Harold's father. There are many surprises, secrets revealed and unexpected outcomes that you will be wondering what can happen next! It really does not stop and the outcome is anybody's guess. But I encourage you to read this exciting story because when you turn the last page, you will have a smile on your face. Cannot wait until the rest of the series!!!
