About the Author

Edmund Gosse (1849-1928) was an English writer, translator, and critic.  He is best known for his masterful translations of Ibsen, as well as a biography of the great Norwegian playwright, and for his powerful 1907 memoir, Father and Son.  He was knighted in 1925.
