We got Goodnight Ark in the mail this week. It's a cute goodnight book by Laura Sassi. It tells the tale of Noah and the pairs of animals on the ark trying to get some sleep. Noah tucks them in and makes sure that everyone is in their own space. Storms roll in and the animals all end up in his bed. He tries to reason with them and then ends up tucking them all into bed in his room. He lulls them to sleep with a lullaby. My toddler enjoyed this book and loved naming all of the animals. I have a feeling this book will quickly find its way into our bedtime book routine.

Fun to read- highly recommend. This story, based on the Bible’s story of Noah, has no mention of scripture or God. The author does a great job of storytelling using the Biblical story of Noah’s ark. Imagination is a great way to spark a little reader’s interest in Bible stories. Here’s a terrific example of storytelling using the Biblical story of Noah’s ark. Fun story with captivating pictures. Love that tiger. Uses Rhyme and Onomatopoeia (pop, ping, zip, zing – that’s Onomatopoeia) Addresses feelings – being afraid of stormy weather.

This is a good read for children. The story is centered around Noah's Ark. Noah is preparing all the animals in the ark for a Good night.  The book  has humor and great colorful pictures. The rhyming sentences provides for the reader to have a certain rhythm to their storytelling voice which enhances the story. The story is best told to children who are not familiar with the biblical truth. Most of the children that knew this story wanted to know why Noah's son's were not helping him with the animals.  Their was some laughs at the pictures.

I loved this story. The Bible doesn't give us a whole lot of information about what happened on the ark, so I love that this author's imagination, took into account that animals on the ark had feelings. These were animal who never experienced rain, so I can easily join her in imagining them being scared. The beautiful pictures made the story leap off the pages, this book is so cute. Mr Noah was adorable, and this story will captivate your little ones. Great book, AWESOME pictures! 5 stars from this reviewer. I received this book as a gift from a friend and wanted to review it. No payment was received for my review.

Cute rhymes, fun illustrations, and a Bible based children's book! I loved it, and so did my five-year-old grandson. Will poor Noah be able to get any sleep? The animals are restless and some are fearful, but they all are ending up with Noah. Children will be able to identify with the animals...I mean, when you heard strange noises did you dash to Mom and Dad and crawl in their bed? This book is a winner, and I'm grateful to my friends at Zondervan Publishing for my complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. "Goodnight Ark" is available in bookstores and online wherever books are sold. Perfect for back-to-school reading, and ideal for Christmas.

As a pastor and a parent of two young boys I am always looking for good books, especially good books that either contain Bible stories or a good story. Some astute parents might recognize the art of this book, I know I did right away. Jane Chapman is the illustrator who does all of the Bear books written by Karma Wilson. The author, Laura Sassi, has had her poems and stories  in Highlights, Cricket and Focus on the Family's Clubhouse and Clubhouse Jr. This book  GOODNIGHT, ARK is her first picture book. The book has a very simple story and meter and I easily read it to both my 10 month old and my 6 year old. With the pictures, the story reminds me of "The Napping House" by Audrey Wood.  While the book doesn't follow the Biblical story of Noah, it still shares a valued and biblical truth, and that is; that God protects us and keeps us safe even when the thunder and lightning outside are scary.  This is a wonderful children's book that I will look forward to reading again and again. Thank you to booklook for this advanced copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This by far has been my son's favorite book that we have gotten! Since the book has arrived in the mail my son has wanted to read it every night and eagerly pays attention! He absolutely loves it! As a parent reading to him I really enjoy it too! I love the little bit of suspense (I guess you could call it that) that happens between page turns! You don't know who is about to show up on the scene when you turn the page! It gets my son every time! I do believe that we have a new bed time story book for the upcoming weeks which our family thoroughly enjoys! It's been fun having my son say some of the animals as well as learning some new ones while having the story about a Biblical character! If your looking for a new bed time story for your child, don't miss this one! I highly recommend it! I give Goodnight, Ark by Laura Sassi a 5 out of 5 stars! *(I received this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts expressed are my own and I was not required to write a positive review!)*

Laura Sassi's children's book, "Goodnight Ark" is an adorable story filled with beautiful, vivid illustrations courtesy of Jane Chapman. In this adorable story, the animals board the ark, and Noah sets sail. But the animals become scared by all of the noises from the storm! What happens next is a humorous and lighthearted story of animal by animal piling into Noah's bed. Elephants, boars, snakes, and even skunks join Noah in his room! Eventually Noah finally comforts all of the animals and restores order by singing the animals a lullaby. I would give this book a 5/5 - the artwork is amazing, bright and colorful; Sassi's story is fun and made my kids laugh out loud. It was fun to imagine what life would have been like living with a boatload of animals! I thought the way that Sassi rhymed the book was cute, and almost made it easier for kids to read on their own. I would recommend this book to anyone with young children - ages 3 and up, although I think that even younger than 3 would probably enjoy the pictures if they wouldn't sit still for the actual story.
