The expansive Gold
series that Universal has been reissuing keeps on trucking along, this time making a pit stop in the Great White North to celebrate Canada's finest rock exports. While there have been dozens of greatest-hits compilations featuring Bachman-Turner Overdrive, they have all had minor flaws, glaring omissions, or even the most heinous of crimes: the re-recording of classics. Gold
remedies that by featuring 35 tracks of hard-rocking goodness spanning the prime years of the band's career. All of the recognizable radio hits are nestled in between lesser-known album rock tracks, digitally remastered and carefully packaged with extensive liner notes detailing the band's every moment of glory. It has everything the diehard could want on two discs, and while its length may be overwhelming for listeners just being introduced to the band, it is most likely all the BTO they would ever need in their collections.
