In this special signed edition for Barnes & Noble, she includes a bonus chapter that challenges women to hustle and to chase down their dreams in spite of other people’s expectations, including giving them three key tips for doing so.

Founder of the lifestyle website TheChicSite.com and CEO of her own media company, Chic Media, Rachel Hollis has created an online fan base of hundreds of thousands of fans by sharing tips for living a better life while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own. Now comes her highly anticipated first book featuring her signature combination of honesty, humor, and direct, no-nonsense advice.

Each chapter of Girl, Wash Your Face begins with a specific lie Hollis once believed that left her feeling overwhelmed, unworthy, or ready to give up. As a working mother, a former foster parent, and a woman who has dealt with insecurities about her body and relationships, she speaks with the insight and kindness of a BFF, helping women unpack the limiting mind-sets that destroy their self-confidence and keep them from moving forward.

From her temporary obsession with marrying Matt Damon to a daydream involving hypnotic iguanas to her son’s request that she buy a necklace to “be like the other moms,” Hollis holds nothing back. With unflinching faith and tenacity, Hollis spurs other women to live with passion and hustle and to awaken their slumbering goals.

This book was recommended to me by my hair dresser who is 20 years younger than me. I thought prior to reading that its content might not apply to me a fifty plus woman. I was wrong. It is a must read with hard truths and inspiring personal stories. It has made me think about whats keeping me from succeeding in all areas of my life.

This book is real. She pours out her sadness to give you hope through yours. She doesn’t try to sell you some miracle self help book. She speaks as though you (the reader) is her friend that she genuinely wants to succeed. I loved every page and will read over and over.

I decided to review this book when I learned Rachel was a Christian and I knew many non-believers were reading her book. So I was curious what all the fuss was about. Before I even started reading this book I did a bit more research on Rachel and my view became a bit bent. There are many people who criticize her. After reading this book I have to say I think her book is really more for the non-believer or the new believer. There isn’t much depth. But I think it is good for what it is. I think a believer needs to know that going into it. If you are looking for something deeper don’t read this book. I think she has a platform and who knows maybe she will reach someone with the truth of the gospel that is sprinkled in this book. I appreciated her true stories from her own life and how she has overcome her struggles. No one is perfect even if they appear to be on the outside. I do wish there was more emphasis on the fact that the only way to true happiness is through Jesus. She says only you can make you happy. If I had to rely on myself I would have no hope. In choosing Jesus I can be happy, apart from Him everything else is meaningless. A copy of this book was given to me through Netgalley.com. All opinions are my own.

I was somewhat skeptical about this book at first. But with each sentence I keep identifying with every single word! This book gave me goose bumps, made me laugh, cry and helped turn a light back on that had gone off a long time ago. I didn’t want the book to end lol!! I will be reading this over and over again and giving it to my daughters for Christmas!

Excellent book! A definite must-read for every single woman in the whole entire world. Seriously. Hollis does a beautiful job laying out ugly truths and encouraging the reader to make a better life. As she says, STOP waiting for someone else to fix your life. Take care of your body. Go all-in towards your goals. Stop comparing yourself to others. No excuses. Be a good human and treat other humans with kindness and respect. Cry. Laugh. Have fun and be silly. Love. EAT. Have sex. Stop judging people. Lift each other up. Embrace the chaos and don't you EVER give up. Determine what you want your life to be like and go get 'em.

Really enjoyed this book. If you struggle with negative self talk or motivation to simply keep reaching for your dreams this book will not disappoint. The author is honest and vulnerable in her story, in a way that encourages other women to take care of themselves so they have the ability to care for others, while never giving up their dream with practical tips on how to.

Girl, Wash Your Face By Rachel Hollis Easy to read: Yes Life changing: Yes Inspiring: Yes Full of truths: Yes Down to earth: Yes Yes, Yes, Yes to this book. I want to buy it for every girl I know young and old. I think that Rachels honesty throughout this book is what makes it so special. We are all in need of her words and I hope that you read this book! Perspective: 31 yr old, wife to my high school sweetheart, mother of 2 boys (3 and 7), casual Occupational Therapy Assistant, a sufferer of anxiety/depression, and most important Jesus freak. I can say that this book was read in almost an evening and got me all pumped I couldn't go to sleep. Not to steal the phrase but just do it. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Would this be a good book for an 11 year old that is in to the young women stuff and that is acting like a normal young girl.?

If you are over the age of 50 don't bother reading this book. It is all stuff you learned in your 20's and 30's by living life and raising kids. Found it boring and hard to relate to her lifestyle. Definitely not a middle class average girl.

There is a lot the average person can connect with in this book to not feeling like a good mother to trauma etc
