Gr 3-6-This appealing title looks at foods, snacks, and sweets, and "Special Food with Special Meaning." A map shows where the different foodstuffs (fish, fruit, olives, etc.) are grown/found. The full-color photos are clear and well labeled. However, in a couple of cases, they are several pages removed from the text explaining them. Otherwise, the format is neat and clear, spotlighting well-chosen recipes. The dishes are fairly simple and are accessible to children who have adult assistance. If libraries feel a need for an entire book on Greek food for this audience, this one will fill the bill.-Judith Constantinides, formerly at East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, LA Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
