This is cute and fun, but the illustrations were pretty cluttered for the small pages of a board book. The scolding mama at the end was overly didactic for my taste. If a moral was required, I'd prefer to have seen the monkeys get eaten.

Most people know the one about monkeys jumping on the bed (also a book), but this rhyme is about as old. Surprised? Yeah, you're not alone :)In the original, the monkeys are definitely eaten. In this version, not so much. (Also, this version cuts down some of my favorite lines from the original rhyme.) Because the monkeys aren't eaten, people who are worried about more sensitive children will probably be okay with this book :) Bright illustrations, bouncy classic rhyme, cute story. Gotta love it :)

Summary: This book is about five little monkeys who go on a picnic with their mom. They all tease Mr. Crocodile and the crocodile snaps all of them out of the tree one at a time. When there are no more little monkeys sitting in the tree the mom gets worried. Suddenly, she spots five tails and all her children are still in the tree. The mom scolds her children and they do not tease Mr. Crocodile again.Personal reaction:I enjoyed reading this book. It runs along the same line as "Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed". I also enjoy this book because you can sing it to the children.Extension ideas:I would have the children write about a time they went on a picnic with their family. I would have the children write down three reasons why they should not tease a crocodile.

Five little monkeys decide to go tease Mr. Crocodile while their mother takes a nap. When their mother wakes up she thinks her babies got eaten by the crocodile, but really they are sitting in the tree hiding. Mother tells them it is not nice to tease. This is a great book to read when teaching children about being nice to others, and its not polite to tease anyone.

Great illustrations for art. It teaches not to tease because you never know when you might get attacked by an alligator. Good for grades 1-7

We picked this book up from our local library. Here we are again jumping into the adventures of the monkeys. When momma monkey decides to take them on a picnic dinner I don't think she planned on her monkeys teasing a crocodile. Don't these monkeys know that teasing a crocodile is not fun! They like to SNAP! We had a good time reading this book along with every time the crocodile would SNAP! We would yell it out, and then try to find the monkey afterwards. Perfect book for all ages. I think they would all get a kick out of it.

I can't write a review about this book because you would not let me have it because I didn't own your device. I own another device in which you promised to support but when you notice to the other company who will remain nameless that they started selling their device you decided to get on your high horse and start selling your own device. How dare you to say I used an invalid credit card purchase this book when I went to purchase it I got an e-mail back stating I didn't have the proper device for this that would only play on your device so don't leave lies posted I don't know that your people trying to cover up so the upper crusty don't know what's going on or you like leaving other people black eyes but this is a black eye for you. I wouldn't buy another book from you if my life depended on it.

Disappointed. Ok in book form. Not compatible with NOOK. Illustrations grainy. Impossible to read. Words and illustrations did not match. Can I receive a refund or maybe a NOOK credit for future purchase? I didn't think so.

I bought this for my son, and when I tried to download I eas told that it was not yet compatible with the device. In my oppinion, if it is not compatible, then B&N shouldn't make it available for Purchase!
