This little children's book walks Cory and Haley through each step of their experience when the fire department responds to a fire at a neighbor's house.

The book provides knowledge of the events and issues when they participate, directly or indirectly, in a fire or medical emergency.
Children often experience a great deal of anxiety and hold fears that bad things will happen to them after they have experienced or witnessed a crisis event.

Having some fore warning of what is or will be happening during the course of any crisis response situation is paramount in reducing the level of the child's trauma. This is contrasted to the normal non-threatening environment which children experience when visiting the local firehouse.

About the Author

As a 4th generation fire fighter, Pete Adams founded Engine House 87 to share stories, education and opinions with the first responder family. His passion born of his family's fire service heritage was honed over the years as a firefighter and coming up through the ranks in a small New Jersey fire department as its training officer and chief of its fire prevention and public education efforts. Many years later, he acquired invaluable insight into the realm of trauma and crisis management as a volunteer Team Leader of a crisis response unit for a major Phoenix, Arizona suburban fire department.
