She watched him disappear, a worm of doubt in her stomach. She had never had to do something like this before. . . She shook her head, as if to displace her troubled thoughts. She scented the air, the wind ruffling her whiskers. The wind! A glimmer of a memory of what her mother had told her surfaced. Always be downwind of your prey. But where was downwind of Goldenstar, exactly? She sniffed the air again, catching a trail of his scent. She padded into the grass, looking around. She was oblivious to the grass catching on her fur, setting the others rattling wildly. She caught sight of Goldenstar ahead and crouched, the grass releasing its hold on her. Carefully, she drew herself forward. It was just like hunting, except with bigger prey. She twitched her whiskers in satisfaction and pounced on Goldenstar.

She looks up a tree, and spots a bluebird nest with a bluebird in it. She climbs the tree and inches torwards the bluebird, careful not to slip and fall. When she is close enough, she snags her claws on the birds feathers. She pulls the desperate bird torwards her, and grabs it with her mouth. she climbs down the tree, then crushes the bird and pads to the other cats.
