Covers some of the mountains of data that supports evolutionary theory and the cultural opposition that the idea encounters in the US. The book was short on direct replies to common arguments brought up by creationists.

Tim M. Berra raises some interesting points in this book, but stops and moves on to a different subject just as things are getting good. He seems cautious to actually give a reasonable explanation to his arguments. Also, although I myself am an evolutionist, I can see some obvious biases and distortions in this somewhat underformed book. There is much better material out there.

I read this book right after some relatives of mine gave me some creationist propaganda to read. I was having my doubts about evolution after being temporarily convinced that serious arguments existed against it. This book changed my mind, although numerous other presentations of the evidence would have had the same effect. When books such as this are readily available, a creationist cannot hope to convince a rational population to believe in the myth of creation. May the truth always be sought.
