Wide public attention beckoned after her landmark BBC 2 TV series, Baking Made Easy, introduced millions of viewers to her easy, impressive recipes. The book of the series went on to be a bestseller and was followed up by an even more popular book and series, Home Cooking Made Easy, making Lorraine the most successful debut cookery writer in the UK at that time. I have never reviewed a cook book before. I kind of asked myself how would I go about it because let’s face it, it would be a total lie to sit here writing a review claiming that I have cooked all of the recipes contained in Eating Well Made Easy, but as a qualified chef myself, and an absolute foodie, I know UI could happily write pages and pages of ramblings about the recipes contained within, and the really insightful tips that Lorraine Pascale provides the reader as the book progresses. Although fully qualified, I have to admit I am a lazy cook, especially when it comes to myself and massively during the week when I am trying to juggle working full time, traveling to and from work and so on, and I have to admit that the main thing that struck me about a lot of the recipes contained in the book was that you could either prepare them in advance, or they would take a matter of minutes to throw together in the evening. Also a large number of the offerings do not contain more than a dozen or so ingredients, I won’t lie if I see a recipe that has a shopping list worth of components I am usually turning the page, a few in particular caught my eye and will certainly be tried very soon. - Peanut Butter and Banana Muffins - Goats Cheese and Courgette Salad with Toasted Pine Nuts - Pepper and Tomato Egg Cups with Spicy Salsa - Home-Made Chive and Parmesan Popcorn - No-Bake Chocolate Brownies If you like cooking, and you are looking for some simple, quick, healthy and what in the main look quite easy recipes, I would certainly not hesitate to recommend this book to you. Just the pictures alone had me salivating! ARC generously provided by the publisher, via Netgalley in exchange for the above honest review.
