I have seen this movie a few times, and it just gets better every time. Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd portray their characters so well, and it's a sweet story that touches the heart. It's a good movie to watch alone on a quiet evening, or with someone you love. It's about friendship, love, making lemonade out of lemons, and taking risks. One of those movies that just makes you feel good.

This film perhaps may not accurately portray all of the details of the originally written novel. However it presents a fairly basic scenario and turns it into a very intriguing film by having highly talented actors and also by using and uncharacteristic approach to ''Hollywood Film.'' The characters in this story are not all winners in the sense of success, intellectual ability and social status which makes more enjoyable to watch because it is easier to relate to a real person than it is a character that has been so made up, their just a fantasy. The filming errors are minor; the music is fitting and emotionally holding. Portman and Frain are the true leaders of this drama. Everything from the characters of the people to the literal and resembling meaning of their names is excellent. I believe that this film teaches us about survival, perseverance, and remembering to always search and focus on the good in our lives.

I'm a big fan of romantic comedies, and this movie lived up to all of my expectations! A big-hearted, frizz-free film, ''Where the Heart Is'' is a must for cold, rainy evenings, when there's nobody to keep you company. No need to see it before you buy it- almost anyone will love it!!

I enjoyed reading Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts because it was very inspirational to me. I liked the movie better than the book because I'm not much of a reader. In the movie it teaches not only young mother's, but young girls that decsions you make can effect you life and future. When things were at their worst Novalee always had faith and hope and in the end everything turned out for the best for her.

I could watch this movie over and over again. Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd both give a wonderful performance here. This is a story about a young girl that really catches your heart.

This movie, based on the book "Where the Heart Is", is the ultimate chick flick! How could it not be with characters that give birth in a Wal Mart, talk about fornicating on a kitchen table, and a heart warming story about love and loss? After initially reading the book, I imediately thought, "OHHHH, this HAS to be made into a movie!" My first pick for the main character's role would not have been Natalie Portman, but she was AMAZING! Stockard Channing could not have been in a more perfect role, along with another great performance from Ashley Judd. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie. It's truly one of those that I can watch over and over again!

I first saw this movie without knowing what it was about. I feel that because I had no expectations, I was able to experience the emotions more openly. I cried, I laughed, and I walked out of the theater truly touched. I since have watched the movie 2 more times and read the book once. It is a great story that can relate to anyone in any walk of life. Definately a must see!

My high school students, who also happen to be teenaged parents, viewed this film after having read the novel by Billie Letts. The film appealed to them because they could relate to being young, pregnant, and in many cases, abandoned by deadbeat boyfriends. The actors in the movie did an accurate portrayal of how Letts described her characters in the novel. The cast was superb and the movie deserves more recognition than it received. I highly recommend the combination of this film and novel as a basis for discussion about characterization, relationships and determinism.

This is a great movie!! It shows of a young girl of 17 named Novalee Nation who is stranded at a Wal-Mart and pregnant. Novalee is befriended by people of Sequoah, Oklahoma. The story is a Oprah Book Club novel and a great book and movie!!

I watched this movie on a plane. Not an ideal place to do so. It's better to view with a loved one. It is a jewel that focus on the life and concerns of the folk people. It brings out the dignity of being common.

I think this movie is awesome! I don't really like to read, but I liked reading this book. This story shows/tells us to be careful on the decisions you make, because they can hurt you in the long run.

The movie was not as good as I expected it to be...because I had read the book. Many important details were left out.Like ...Where was Benny Goodluck? And why wasn't Jolene a toothless girl? And most of all..Why did they use the number 5 insted of 7 as Novalee's unlucky number? I'm disapointed that some of the details were missing, but the movie had a better ending than the book so it is worth seeing .

This is a great movie....originally a book on the Oprah Book List. LOVE IT! Great Activing performances and quirky at the same time. The movie has a great message to it......which is how much you can overcome with the right attitude....and that friendships can be found in the oddest of places and can hold you up through it all. Also......very noteworthy - is the soundtract to this movie!!!!!! All in All I HIGHLY reccoment this movie to everyone!
