UHF is the film debut of comedy rock satirist Weird Al Yankovic, who also co-wrote the screenplay. George Newman (Yankovic) and his friend Bob (David Bowe from The Cable Guy) are fired from their jobs at Burger World. So George decides to take over Channel 62, a failing local TV station that his uncle Harvey (Stanley Brock) won in a poker game. George turns it around into an overnight success after letting the janitor, Stanley Spadowski (Michael Richards from Seinfeld), host a kid's show. George then fills the broadcast day with bizarre programming, bringing the ratings up and saving the station. Soon, rival station CEO R.J. Fletcher (Kevin McCarthy) of Channel 8 threatens to sabotage the successful station, and George must come up with a way to save it. Only loosely constructed around this storyline, UHF is mostly a series of TV, movie, and music parodies strung together and played for cheap laughs. UHF also stars Victoria Jackson, Emo Philips, and Fran Drescher.

I have been a Weird Al Fan since the day I heard Amish Paradise on the top 9 and 9 on a local radio station for weeks upon weeks straight. Great song. I since looked into more of his music, and I love it to this day. His parodies are hilarious! However, that aside, I had never once seen UHF, which he obviously stars in, until just the other day at my lady friend's house. She loves the movie and owned a copy of it, so we sat down and gave it a watch. Good laughs! Let's face it, it's not the most grade A quality movie out there by any account, and it's not really suppose to be, but it's a good laugh, and it has a some great feel good moments in it, as well as the common dastardly rival that they have to try and overcome. If you're looking for a good, silly movie to sit back and laugh to, and/or if ya just plain like Weird Al, I would recommend giving this movie a watch. It also has Michael Richards in it, (Kramer for Seinfeld), in one of his first appearances, as well as Fran Drescher. Check it out folks!

UHF. I've had this movie for about five months and have watched it twenty times already. Sometimes, I'm just playing ball outside and have to come in because I just have got to watch it. You’ve got to see it to believe it. Go out and get it today. Then, go and show it to your friends and family. Spread the madness. Today your friends, tomorrow the world. UHF rules.

UHF is one of the greatest movies ever made! The plot is thin but the movie never gets old. This is the movie to watch when you just feel like you need some laughs. Wierd Al is great in UHF.

I'm not the biggest Weird Al fan in the world, but how could you NOT like this film ?!? There are so many extras throughout both sides of this DVD (yes, it's a double-sided DVD), you'll spend hours just exploring...and, when you purchase this, make sure to go online and find out where all the easter eggs are hidden (some are quite hilarious). I loved the commentary, personally, and the special guest appearances. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !

I grew up listening to Weird Al and watching this movie (you can tell how sad that is). This movie is funny as hell.

This movie is Weird Al at his best. He even includes his music video for 'Money or Nothing/Beverly Hilbillys.' Michael Richards palys the part of Stanley Spadowski very well, but doesn't compare(or maybe he does) to Weird Al as George Newman as Indiana Jones and Rambo.

I have been waiting for this DVD forever! I am a huge Weird Al fan and have wanted a copy of this movie for a long time, but the VHS version is out of print and a collector's item. So I was really excited to see this movie re-released. The movie itself is hilarious -- the plot is thin and trite, but the parodies and tv bits are great, making a plot unnecessary (and get in the way at times). A great purchase for every Weird Al fan or anyone else who appreciates absurd, silly comedy. The audio commentary on this DVD was a bit disappointing -- spent a lot of time listening to Al telling us the address of every location they shot rather than being his usual, funny self. Michael Richards brought some much needed comic relief to the audio commentary, but it was short-lived.

This film is a must-see for all Weird Al fans. It's one of those films that gets funnier each time you watch it. Be sure to wear rubber pants when you veiw it so you can safely pee all over yourself whilst laughing.
