The Tuskegee Airman, Robert Markowitz's film about race relations and fighter pilots in World War II, comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original aspect ratio of 1.85:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo, and a Spanish soundtrack is available in Dolby Digital Mono. Subtitles are accessible in all three of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include cast and crew biographies. This is a solid release from HBO/Rysher.

This is an excellent inspirational movie with a great cast. It an excellent addition to the African American video library. There were great performances by Allan Payne, Cuba Gooding, Jr and Lawrence Fishburne.
