Thrills and chills abound in the dramatic film The Deep End. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, Fox has done a justifiably nice job at making sure that this transfer looks clean and clear of almost any and all blemishes. The colors in this picture look very clear with the black levels well saturated and solid. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and sounds excellent. The background noises and ambient sound on this track are very well mixed with all speakers being utilized thoroughly. Also included on this disc are English and French Dolby 2.0 soundtracks, as well as subtitles in English and Spanish. The extra features for The Deep End include a fairly in-depth commentary track by directors Scott McGeehee and David Siegel, a short "Making of the Deep End" featurette that is your basic promo spot, a very intriguing 30-minute "Anatomy of a Scene" special which includes interviews with the crew and actors, a theatrical trailer for the film, a single TV spot, and a still gallery with some publicity photos.
