Elmo (voice of Kevin Clash) learns about the importance of fire safety and has fun doing it in this video from the producers of the long-running children's television series Sesame Street. After a fire on Sesame Street puts a scare into many of the residents, Maria (Sonia Manzano) organizes a trip to a nearby fire station, where the firemen teach Elmo and his friends about the important job they do, how they stay safe from fire, and what kids (and their parents) should do if there is a fire in their home. Sesame Street: Elmo Visits the Firehouse also features a new song from Elmo and the gang, "Get Low and Go," as well as a visit from Hero Guy.

Our 2 yr old son loves Elmo and firefighters so this was a no brainer. There is lots to entertain and use as jumping off points for discussion, although he was nervous at first about the openning scenes where Elmo is frightened by the fire at Hoopers and doesn't want to go back inside for lunch. This passed when we had watched the show together a few times and he realized everything would be ok in the end. This was an easier watch for his age than the Elmo Visits the Doctor, which is still a bit over his head. Elmo's Happy Holidays was spot on this last holiday season with him and our 4.5 year old and it covers several holiday traditions, not just Christmas.
