David Swift's family classic Pollyanna comes to DVD with this impressive two-disc set from Disney/Buena Vista. The disc offers a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.75:1. This is easily the best this film has ever looked on home video. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the soundtrack is closed captioned. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by director Swift and star Hayley Mills, the animated short Nifty Nineties, three featurettes, production archives, a 1960 Disney studio album, and Walt Disney's original introduction for the film's first television broadcast. This is a wonderful family disc that offers extras that will appeal to kids, adults, and film enthusiasts.

I reluctantly agreed to watch this movie with a friend one rainy Saturday for lack of anything else on her shelf. I ADORED Mills in the Parent Trap and was afraid that even though The Parent Trap was made after Pollyanna the later wouldn't live up to one of my all time favorite family films. Boy I couldn't have been more wrong! Mills performance in Pollyanna, while holding parallels to her performance in the Parent Trap, is distinctly different. The other stars and supporting characters deliver nothing but complamentary performances as well. The audio commentary is apealing without detracting from the movie itself. This is a great family classic recommended for families with children in elementary school or older as well as for anyone who enjoys good wholesum entertainment.

This movie is a welcome blast from the past. Only from Walt Disney could we get a wholesome, entertaining picture such as this. Thoroughly enjoyable for baby boomers and their kids as well. I love it!!!!

Pollyanna is a movie for the whole family. A cute movie where is an hour or less you have fallen in love with Hayley Mills and just want everything to be her way.

This movie is fantastic, I first saw it as a Disney movie when I was a child and the "Glad game has stayed with me into adulthood". You can always find the good in situation if you try. This movie should be in the movie's you introduce a young child to, since it provides hope and optimism in a world that sometimes appears a little overwhelming. Also great for a classroom discussion as well.

Okay, I must admit that when I first watched Pollyanna back in the late 1980's I thought it was good but not Hayley Mills best movie and I felt that the movie was too long and slow paced but a couple of months ago I watched it again and really enjoyed it. I guess now that I'm older I can appreciate the movie better!
