The eccentric owner of a magical toy store surprises the shop's manager by turning over ownership to her in a warm-hearted comedy fantasy directed by Zach Helm and starring Jason Bateman, Dustin Hoffman, and Natalie Portman. Portman plays the manager of the store that seems to be a reflection of the people who run it, and Bateman stars as the detail-oriented accountant assigned the task of assessing the establishment's monetary value.

Although this film did not do well in theatres it is a well acted and scripted movie for kids and adults alike. It reminds the viewer about friendship and finding joy in life and the inquisitive and believing nature of children. It has many underlying messages but most important is to believe in yourself. A good message for anyone.

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is a wonderful film for the entire family, charming and engaging, while curiously touching and compelling. And, of course, Natalie Portman is as wonderful as she was in her role as Padme Amadala in Star Wars.

Cheesy headlines aside, this movie is incredible! It's been awhile since a movie has given me a "magical" feeling, seeing how I am 18 years-old, but this movie is just amazing. It's child humor still makes me laugh. I already have it on my iPod and I'll be purchasing it just to compliment their work. This isn't the usual movie I'd want to see, in fact, I didn't want to see it, but I highly recommend this.

I loved Dustin Hoffman as the eccentric Emporium owner. It was a majical two hours with my niece. I loved it so much at the theater that I bought it for our collection.

I thought it was really dumb. There were a couple of funny parts, but overall, it was pointless. I wasted at least two hours of my life that I can never get back. The movie was cheesy, annoying, and I don't want to waste any more time talking about it.
