One of the most popular and influential video games ever makes its way to the big screen in this sci-fi thriller. A coalition of Earth's scientific and military interests have established a research colony called Olduvai on the planet Mars, but one day all communication from the outpost stops and no one can tell what has happened -- though the final messages suggest it's not good. Believing foul play may have overtaken Olduvai's crew, the Rapid Response Tactical Squad, a team of specially trained military personnel, are deployed to investigate the situation and, if necessary, eliminate the invaders. But Sarge (Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock) and Reaper (Karl Urban), leaders of the RRTS team, soon discover the situation is far more grim than they could have imagined. An experiment on Olduvai has very literally opened a portal to Hades, and a variety of savage and demonic creatures have overtaken the colony. Now the RRTS must seal off Olduvai, close off any access to Earth, and exterminate the satanic beasts before they can kill again. Doom also stars Rosamund Pike (as Dr. Grimm), Dexter Fletcher, Ben Daniels, and Deobia Oparei.

This one was okay. Not that bad, but not that good either.

The movie is a great movie. It has a ritch stroyline though I dont recomend ie to hardcore gamers of Doom 3, cuase it doesnt exactly follow the games storyline, though the storyline on the movie pulls together itself, but you realy need to listen. The first person shooter scene is one of the best things I've seen in the past movies. The movie has some pretty gory and scary stuff, but way different than Doom 3.

If you're a stickler for the movie being exactly like the game, stop now because Doom isn't. The movie varies from the game in quite a few key elements actually, but if taken on its own, they actually enrich the plot. The Rock actually shines in this kind of movie, proving that Wrestling and Acting may truly be overlapping arts, and his portrayal of a character who walks the grey lines of morality and ethics is actually quite good. The other characters and supporting cast,(especially Karl Urban) Make this movie a great one to watch in groups, comparing who is most like whom. Don't expect all of the characters to live to the end however, this isn't that kind of movie. Definately a great watch for action fans with an amusing 1st person shooter sequence that will pull game fans in and make this a favourite. Fun for sci-fi fans, but not nessecerily for someone who is looking for an emotionally intricate plot.

Wow, I really don't know what to say about Doom other than it was a boring ride. Identical monsters attack everyone and the rock turns into a stupid looking evil monster. Not much there. I almost fell asleep and I loved the games. I really can't believe anyone would rate this even 3 stars.

Acting for the most part was not that great in this film but as for the monsters it does not dissapoint. It had a storyline that was easy to fallow, lots of action, and the best first person shooter action sequence i have ever seen.

Now I know what you're thinking. How could a movie about zombies and other monstrosities be funny. At first glance, Doom is just another stupid video game adaptation. However, it becomes the funniest movie of the year when you start to see the comedy at every turn. You do have to heckle the movie for it to be funny, but once you start there is no stopping. Except for the first-person scene, which was amazing, Doom is a ridiculous film that will make you laugh as hard as you did when you saw Dumb and Dumber or Happy Gilmore.
