The ballet school drama Center Stage comes to DVD with a surprising amount of features, including a widescreen, anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround Audio, and a commentary by director Nicholas Hytner. A "making of" featurette and extended dance sequences emphasize the film's attention to choreography and ballet fundamentals, while the isolated music score and deleted scenes provide more insight into the creative processes behind Center Stage. Theatrical trailers, production notes, cast and crew biographies, and the video for Mandy Moore's "I Wanna Be With You" complete this fairly substantial and entertaining disc.

I loved Center Stage! It gave you the feeling to get up and dance what ever you are doing. I am a dancer and loved it. It gives you the perspective on what it is like to be a dancer and you can always follow you dreams if you put you mind to it and are patient.

The first time i saw this movie i only got to see the last 30min of it. But just those few minutes made me wanna watch it again! I never thought a ballet movie would be interesting...but it was unforgetable! If you get the chance watch it, do! :)

This is the best movie ever! The first time I watched it I was with my cousin and was like... ''umm... I guess i'll watch it.'' And I ended up loving it. My cousin (the one I saw it with the first time) then bought ti for me. Everytime someone comes over, we watch Center Stage!

I loved the movie! It perfectly displays the life of a dancer. I could relate to almost all the scenes. Center Stage is one of my personal favorites. All of the dancers are just amazing, and the music is awesome too!

I'm a dancer. I danced ballet for 5 years, and jazz and tap for 4 years. I'm addicted to dance movies. This one is one of the best I've seen.

this movie is one of my favorite movies! not only because it has dance in it... but because of the fact that it shows what the students in ABA have to go through. this is all very true. i really do reccomend this movie to everyone. it sends out an outstanding mesage.... never give up, dance from your soul. i love it.

The actors are mostly 'unknowns,' at least no one I have heard of before. There is nothing wrong with that, except at times the actors seem like they are more comfortable with ballet than acting. Although all of the actors are obviously talented dancers, their on screen acting leaves much to be desired. The plot of this movie is basicly the same as every other teenage coming-of-age movie. Girl goes far away and finds 'herself' and love through hard work and heartbreak. The movie is slow to start, and becomes cluttered as the plot progresses. The characters rarely have meaningful interactions with each other, unless they occur on the dance floor -- without dialogue. This is only a problem because the the story focuses not on one or two characters, but on six different people, which makes things a little confusing. Overall, the characters lack dimension.

Speaking from a dancers' point of view, I loved the movie! I mean, the dance was so beautiful! And i liked how it showed that dance isn't all the glitz and glam that it is made up to be! It's a lot of hard work and this movie really shows it, from the bloody toes, to the stage mothers, and the bulimia......WOW! that's all i can really say! And they actors were all very good and and they were also extremly good dancers.

When I first saw the previews of Center Stage I thought it would be a joke! I thought that a movie about ballet would be extremely boring, but now I have to say that Center Stage is one of my favorite movies. Any athlete can appreciate the hard work and dedication that the dancers in this movie have. They are passionate and have high goals for themselves. The dance numbers are to die for, and the story line is great. I would recommend this movie to everyone- and it is a great date movie.

This movie is incredible. You can't help but move along. I end up dancing around the house after I watch it. It is a must see for anyone who loves dance.

Center Stage was awesome! I have never really cared for dancing and I really enjoyed this movie. It was one of those movies that you hate to see it end. I really enjoyed the story line and the dancing. The dancing was really awesome. Center Stage was also inspirational because it shows that you don't have to be just an awesome dancer to get into an awesome dance school. Jody didn't have great feet but she put on a real show. I would recomend this movie to everybody.

I'm a dancer, and I really enjoyed watching this movie! While I was watching it, it made me wanna get up and dance along with them! I think the movie was a little slow moving, but the great dancing totally made up for that. I would love to dance like they do! I think the dancers, even though most of them have never acted before, did a terrific job in this movie. I would totally recommend this movie, especially if you are a dancer yourself!

I've seen a lot of dancing movies, the reason this is my favorite is because I've been in tap for 9 years, jazz for about 6,and ballet for 3 years, these movies portrait great ballet and jazz shows, as well as the hardships of a dancers life and of any persons life, this is a great movie.

I absolutely loved it. It was just great. It was an extremely dramatic movie.I guess that's why I watched 10 times in one day.

Center stage is one of the best movies around, especially if you love dancing. I dance Jazz, but I used to dance ballet when I was younger and one of my friends just started pointe. It's also just a good love story but come the dance is one of the best parts!

I was absolutely on the edge of my seat throughout this entire movie. Finally, a modern dance movie where the characters are doing their own dancing. The story will touch the hearts of dancers as well as those who simply appreciate dance. The story shows you every aspect of becoming a premier ballet dancer. I wanted to jump out of my seat and lace up my pointe shoes. Definately a must see.

Finally a movie for serious dancers which is almost completely accurate. Sascha R. Ethan S. and (of course) Julie Kent all show their talent of being principles at ABT (in real life). This makes for the thrill of being at the Met,seeing a ballet, but with a plot and character transformation which makes for an all around fabulous film!! Hard to put into words, go watch it...and if you have, go watch it AGAIN!!!
