I think this is a good season though everything seems to be a run-on. The thing I didn't like was how the writers decided to have Cordelia become evil. They had been building up to the moment when Angel and Cordelia would express their love and then they let us down by having them not get together. The season was good but the whole thing they did with Cordelia was bad.

Im a huge Buffy and Angel fan . but i got to say Angel has gotten a little bit more darker and depressing than normal. i really didnt enjoy alot of the episodes because i thought they were depressing and kinda boring. the only episodes i enjoyed was when Faith(with the help of Wesley) escaped from prison so she can battle Angelus to save his soul and try to fight the Beast. those were the only fun episodes out of the entire season because mainly Faith can make the episodes more fun to watch and more action oriented instead of being a broody depressing episodes. I love Angel but i think since the show cancelled it should of been more lighter and at least have some jokes or comedy in it it gets depressing seeing the characters dont smile or laugh or even a sense of humor. even Buffy had comedy and light moments mixed with all the action and romance and drama why couldnt Angel? and that made Buffy more enjoyable to watch. even though Buffy season 6 and 7 got more darker dealing with issues of everyday life. I like the earlier seasons of Angel and i have to say i really didnt enjoy season 5 i dont think it was the best season.

I have been a fan of Angel from the beginning. Let me say this season rocked! I loved the return of Faith, Angelus and Willow. I loved Cordelius (Evil Cordelia!)... But I hated Jasmine's run on speeches at the end... Similar to Buffy Season 7 speeches. But them being offered Wolfram & Hart was awesome... and the return of Lilah.

Saying the words 'Evil Cordy' elicits a lot of bad reaction from fans of Angel. It seemed as if that one plot twist shifted everything within the walls of the Hyperion. It isn't a twist that could be called 'contrived'--remember, Cordy did accept becoming half-demon to keep the visions--but the evolvement was...disappointing. But Season 4 was indeed the darkest of the five seasons of Angel; with much of the darkness coming from Vincent Kartheiser's Connor--feral, angry; but continually used by others for their nefarious purposes. By Holtz at the end of Season 3, by the turned Cordelia, and finally by the result of his and Cordy's union (Which was too close to Oedipus for comfort), Gina Torres' Jasmine. This is a hard season to watch because of the wounds of the characters--Gunn and Fred breaking up, Wesley starting the year still on the outs with the team (Though the affair with Lilah is hot), Angel's strains with Connor and Cordy (Even before Cordy reveals herself to be the main player in the Reign of Fire arc). But the positives in Season 4 come from Boreanaz's extended turn as Angelus--which reminded us all of how truly bad Angel was without his soul, the ever hilarious Andy Hallett as Lorne, Eliza Dushku's return as Faith--a whole Slayer trying to pay back Angel for saving her by saving him from Angelus, and Alyson Hannigan's drop-in as Willow--Alyson's scene with Alexis Denisof (Whom she married not long after the end of Buffy) is cute. But again, there is that overwhelming sense of lack of focus on the part of Joss Whedon and the writers--again, something I contribute to Whedon's obsession with 'Firefly/Serendipity' that took away much of the season's sharpness. Of course, it also didn't help that so many of the bad guys from Season 3--Laurel Holloman's Justine, Daniel Dae Kim's Gavin Park, and especially Stephanie Romanov's Lilah--were either killed or disappeared and in exchange we got members of the 'Firefly' ensemble (Gina Torres in Season 4, Adam Baldwin in Season 5). It just SHOULD have been a better season.

Season 4 of Angel got a little complicated. The main story arc had a few loop holes and dead ends. However, this is very worth buying just to see the episodes featuring Angelus. I am a huge Angel/Buffy fan, and this is a good edition to any fan's collection. Season Four is also the last season Lilah Morgan appears in, and the surprise ending is...well, surprising.

This is by far, my favorite season of Angel. I'm rarely surprised by television anymore but all the twists and turns really kept me on the edge of my seat. Angel was the best thing on television

This season is ok i dont like a few of the new people but its still a great season. Joss never fails to make a good season. From Connor and Jasmine to them owning wolfarman and hart. at the end of the season. to have us wanting to know what happens next season.

Angel is one of my favorite shows but I personally feel that season four is the worst season. The thing with Cordelia and Connor was just icky and the evil Cordelia story just didn't work. I did like the return of Angelus and I also thought the Jasmine story was good, but sorry, but the evil Cordy story just did not cut it! By the way I for one am glad that they didn't make Angel and Cordelia a romantic couple. First off David and Charisma had a friendship chemistry but not a romantic chemistry. Having them become a couple just wouldn't be believable and also as a fan of the Buffy and Angel relationship I would have hated it if Angel got together with Cordelia because Cordelia was always jealous of Buffy and treated her badly. Because Cordelia treated Buffy like dirt I think if Angel did get together romatically with Cordelia it would have been like a slap in the face to Buffy who was supposed to be his soul mate!

This season isn't as bottom-to-the-top strong as the previous 2 (no more David Greenwalt), but it's still very good. What's especially interesting about it are 1. the return of Faith (Dushku does good job as the conflicted former villain) and 2. the return of Angelus, Angel's soulless alter ego. For most of the 5 year run Angel's sword of damocles was that something would strip him of his soul and he'd be evil again - and yet the creative team resisted the temptation throughout the run, but for a single run of 4 or 5 episodes this season. So it's good that they did it, (Boreanaz is a great heavy) and it's good that this is the ONLY time they did it. I wasn't so into the 'Jasmine' stuff at the end, but overall it's a good season. Much stronger than season 5.

Season four of Angel was easily the worst season of the series. The whole Evil Cordelia thing didn't fit in well, Connor and Cordelia had no chemistry at all, the Beast made almost no sense, and the Jasmine plot was not well done at all. The only parts of the season I found enjoyable were the beginning half of the episode 'Spin the Bottle' and the return of Angelus. Buy at your own risk.
