Brian Helgeland rocked the medieval world with this knightly tale that combined jousting and romance with a modern music score. Presented in Anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, this DVD captures the snap, crackle, and pop of each lancing blow. The story of a squire "changing his stars" by impersonating a nobleman so he could compete in tournaments was one that brewed in Helgeland's head for a number of years before he finally put it to paper in one month's time. His years of research then allowed him to do the unlikely -- give tiny, enhancing details to a big-scale film. These facts and more can be found on the DVD, a disc that not only provides great insight into Helgeland's method and process, but allows fans to take a closer look at one of the things that made this such an entertaining film: the action and jousting sequences. (Who imagined there was pasta inside those lances to make them splinter especially well?) Features include commentary by Helgeland and his good friend, the oft-naked Paul Bettany, as well as 11 behind-the-scenes featurettes, six deleted scenes with the filmmaker's introduction (check out the one with Chaucer's wife), an HBO "making of" special, Queen and Robbie Williams' "We Are the Champions" video, filmographies, and theatrical trailers for A Knight's Tale and Final Fantasy.

A Knight's Tale is a funny movie. While it is not historically correct, with the music and some of the lines it is very funny. Heath Ledger plays William Thatcher, a peasant squire that pretends to be a knight so that he could compete in the joust. He tries to hid his true identity.

This is one of my favorite movies. It keeps you entertained with a fun story of a guy trying to make a better life for himself and his friends and ends up falling in love with a princess. I love the way it sets a modern story in medieval times. One of the most interesting qualities of this movie is how the entire soundtrack is full of modern music with artists such as Queen. One of the reasons they did this was to show that their music sounded to them then like our music sounds to us today. All in all, it is an inspiring story with a healthy dose of side splitting comedy.

this is a really complete movie, with: action, love, friendship, honor, bad, etc...it likes me a lot!!

Like the other reviews say, a fun medieval period movie, with lots of action and great music. Doesn't take itself seriously. Just adding here that another really great movie in a similar way is The Princess Bride. Doesn't have the great music, but is also lots of fun. Cameo by Billy Crystal too.

I love this movie. I don't understand why people don't realize that all the modern rock music is what the music back then felt like to them. In other words, the music we find stuffy and dull that they played then felt like rock music in medieval times. That's what the directors were going for. And the plot is awesome. Changing your stars. I think everyone should appreciate this movie. It's my favorite!

This movie was very fun to watch, and the music was great. It kept me lauging the whole time. Especially when Heath Ledger was learning to dance and then seeing him dance at the ball.

This was the best film I have ever seen. I love it when Heath Ledger dances to my favourite song ever, David Bowie Golden years. The only thing wrong with it is that Shannon Sossamon is very wooden. I loved Paul Bettany, Alan Tudyk and Mark Addy. The soundtrack rocks, I bought it as soon as i had seen the film. You must see it!!

First off, it's a movie, not a documentary, so relax and go with the flow. After you do that, I think you'll love this movie. It has good looking people, a fun soundtrack and plenty of action from start to finish. It also has that cool, trendy feel to it that I like so much. Varsity Blues is one of my favorite movies and the carefree, good feeling I had at the end of that, I had at the end of this as well. It's one you want to own. It's going to fit in great with my Adam Sandler collection, Varsity Blues, American Pie, the Matrix, Braveheart, Gone in 60 Seconds... you get the point. That's the type of movie it is.
