Forcing his company on Gwyneth during her journey to Scotland, David discovers the passion he once shared with the feisty beauty has grown stronger than ever. But with their arrival in Scotland comes terrible danger. Now, if they ever hope to satisfy their fiery desire, they will need to thwart the evil that threatens to destroy both their lives...

Gwyneth Douglas has a scandalous secret: she's a novelist. More specifically, she writes adventure books, using a pseudonym to protect her identity. Somehow, a blackmailer discovers her occupation, and Gwyneth decides that the only way to protect herself and her fortune is to elope with a fortune-hunting baronet. But when David Pennington (no stranger to scandal himself after the unsolved murder of his sister-in-law, Emma) learns of her plans, he literally refuses to leave her side. Although Gwyneth is initially annoyed with the tenacious David, the feelings she had for him as a young girl return. Unfortunately, they need more than love to protect them from Emma's murderer.

I didnt get the second book of this series. It didn't seem really necessary and after reading this book I don't feel like I missed anything important. I really liked the first book and this one was really good too. I liked the fact that in this book by reading about memories of different people from past, Emma transformed from a selfish woman to really an evil one. My only problem was that after all the talk of how in love David had been with her, the author didn't try hard enough at the first of the book to convince us he loved Gwen. He followed her home to make sure she is safe and later years he followed her so she wouldn't get married to a fortune hunter but I didn't feel his heart in it. Overall it was an excellant and satisfying end to the story. Just wished she would have let us know what was the sex of Lyon's baby.

Millicent was a widow, not a widower since she was a woman. There should be some editing and proof reading before publishing the book.

The book is good, I did skip of Walter's letters though. It seemed to take away from the story, but thats my perspective. The book was great and had many twist!!

So much mystery and misunderstandings are revealed and forgiveness as well as justice are delivered in this final book of the series. I was amazed to read the whole twisted tale of selfish manipulations that Emma had brought to many a good man that fell to her lies. Finding that the apple did not fall far from the tree was not too suprising with what was hinted at and revealed throughout the series. It was good to see the many couples that came together and the return of sweet Violet made this story even better. I would like to read more about these couples please write an update for we readers to enjoy.

In 1771 heiress Gwyneth Douglas writes adventure tales under a pseudonym. Her life seems fine though she frowns at the licentious behavior of her older married cousin Emma, who she once adored as a role model. However, tragedy strikes the family when Emma is found dead having fallen from the side of a cliff. Though her husband survived the same fall, everyone including his two younger siblings assumes Lyon Pennington killed his spouse............................. A few years later, a desperate Gwyneth has decided to elope with a friend Allan Ardmore to escape her aunt and that of a blackmailer. Lyon¿s brother David, just returned from military duty, intercepts her. He accompanies her on her trek to Scotland and the passion that had been at the surface when Emma died, erupts as they fall in love with one another However, her aunt blames his brother for her daughter¿s death and rogues like Allan and the blackmailer want to gain control of Gwyneth¿s loot so that killing David is quite acceptable........................... Fans of Georgian romance will take immense delight with the entertaining DREAMS OF DESTINY that completes May McGoldrick¿s fine trilogy. The story line is action-packed, but at its best when the lead couple banter and try to trump one another. The villains don¿t match up to the heroic duo, but provide enough diverse tension so that the audience receives a wonderful historical tale of love conquering all.......................
