My granddaughter loves the Dragon series, I wish there were more. The book is just right for lower grade readers, and my older grandchild even loves the story.

My 5 year old son loves the Dragon series, and this is definitely the best of the bunch. Dragon's having a bad day, and his mishaps are laugh out loud funny even for me when I read it!! I dare anyone to read the house cleaning chapter and not giggle! The record for this one is 7 days in a row as the "must read" bedtime story.

Dragon Gets By is about a dragon that does everything wrong when he is groggy. Here are some examples of his hilarious behavior. He fries the morning newspaper and reads an egg. Then butters his tea and sips a cup of toast. Dragon makes a humongous hole in the floor. Dragon goes to the grocery store and buys so much food that it won't fit in his car. Dragon eats so much that he can¡¯t fit into his yellow car. Dragon crashes down the hill holding onto his car. He hits a mail box, a telephone pole, and his house. Dragon looks in his cabinet and says, ¡°Time to go shopping.¡± Dragon waters his bed and sleeps on his plants. This book is good for young readers. My opinion is that Dragon Gets By is good for ages 5 through 8 and grades 1 through 3.
