I am very unsatisfied by this board book. My 11 month old loves the original ABC book and the original Foot Book. Now that he is at the stage of turning pages I thought the board books would be nice...but the words are not the same. I dont like the thought of changing a story he has heard since birth. I bought a 4 pack thinking they would be like his original books. Nothing on the outside cover told me they had been shortened or changed...'trick feet, sick feet' is now 'well feet, sick feet'. It does not even rhyme!

My 19 month grandson loves this book. Although he loves all books in general, this book is very special. Instead of a toy it's the first thing he looks for each morning while he waiting for his breakfast. This book has been very helpful with learning the sound of each letter as well as recognizing and match letters with certain pictures and words.

Yet another great alphabet book. This book is fun and very interactive. With each letter is says "BIG __, little __, what begins with __?" It gives the students a chance to say words that they think begin with each letter. The book shares some words that start with each letter and has pictures of those things as well. It is very helpful with letter learning in that it shows it both as a capital and lower case letter and lists many words that start with each letter while giving students the chance to guess words that start with each letter as well.

This alphabet book is filled with crazy animals and out of the box verses; it incompesses a mind of a child and is easy to grasp. This is a great book for children to learn the alphabet and sounds while having fun with all the strangeness of it.

Each letter is represented with Dr. Seuss's quizzical nonsense words that make reading the alphabet fun for any child.

If you've ever played (or watched your children play) the CD game version of this, then you know that it has a lot more to look at and read about than the book, however, the book is a classic. A wonderfully fun way to learn about the ABC's. Appropriate for all ages :-)

I just love this book, it is an absolute blast to read aloud. My preschool students always crack up with it, but it also gets them thinking. It shows the letter, puts some hilarious combination of words together, and shows a beautifully illustrated picture to accompany. It provides a fun jumping off point for kids - ask two or three kids to come up with their own words that start with A or J and combine them in a ridiculous way the same way the book does. And, for older kids with more art skills, they can then illustrate their new situation.

Dr. Seuss' alphabet book is perfect for preschool children who are learning the letters of the alphabet. With colorful illustrations and fun, out-of-the-ordinary characters, learning the alphabet easy, comical and fun!

The text is well done and some of the pictures are quite funny - the baby in the barber shop, for example. Regardless, I find Dr. Seuss's animals to be mostly hideous, classic or no. Not so sure yet how our girls like the book though, maybe they will be of a different opinion.

This book is about how to learn your alphabet, as well as words that begin with each letter. It also demonstrates where to use a capital or lower case letter. It is a very kid friendly, making it a fun book to learn from. I would use this book in a nursery school and kindergarten classroom.* Alphabet book, helps with spelling and letter recognition as well as capital versus lower case.

This is a book that was written to help teach children to read by placing emphasis on the letters of the alphabet. Not only does it focus on identifying certain letters, but it also focuses on using and identifying both uppercase letters and lowercase letters. It gets children to think by always asking the question "What begins with (letter)?"I think this is a very good book to read to children in Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. A good time to read it to them is when they are learning about the alphabet and applying it to certain words. In addition, I think it is a good book to read to students who are learning about words that rhyme.

I got this book for my 16 month son last night. I started reading it to him and noticed that it isnt the same as the book I know and have loved since I was very little. I dont believe that any of the words should have been changed. I will not be reading this copy to him anymore. Thank goodness I still have my copy from when I was little.

I got this book when my son was 4 months old. At first it was a bit lengthy to read the whole thing to him- he would get angry around "Big N, little n..." but now he absolutely loves it! I wouldn't recommend it as a bed time story though because of how long it is but it is a wonderful way to learn the alphabet, learn "big" and "little" letters, and to learn a variety of unique words. My son is nearly 8 months old and he loves this book. I'm not sure how long the book will last though- sometimes we read it after a meal (or he decides the book IS a meal) and it gets pretty messy and when I clean it some of the color rubs off... but that is to be expected and I would have no problem buying this book again and again!

I had a good time reading it to her. There were good examples of the letters so they can learn ABCs.

We love Suess at our house so maybe we are a little bias but this is the best ABC book I have found. The rhymes and the rhythm to the book are great.

This book truly is a classic for young children especially those just learning their ABC's. Dr. Seuss gives beginning readers a chance to learn and grow all while hearing a wonderful, silly story. The pages are colorful and engaging and a joy to read and share with your favorite little one. I bought this for my 5 year old nephew for his dad to read to him and they both love it. It allows for quality time while being a great educational tool. My nephew can be heard reciting his ABC's Dr. Seuss style while playing in the yard with other toys. I would recommend this book both for gift giving and for basic educational uses.
