by Patrick Blindauer

Double-doku means double the fun and double the challenge! These tricky puzzles combine the best of traditional sudoku with acrostic wordplay. Start by solving the clues: each clue is missing its first letter, so you have to figure that out first. Next, write down the answers in the accompanying numbered spaces. Then, place those letters in the correspondingly numbered squares in the grid. Each square comes from two different clues to help you complete it. When the entire grid is filled, there’s another fun step: one of the rows will have the answer to the clue hidden in the initial letters of the clue list.

It's been a while since I did sudoku, so I've forgotten all the tricks (not that I ever knew ALL the tricks). This was a nice combination of acrostic-like puzzles leading to alphabetic sudokus with hidden words.

I happened on 'Double Doku' in the store. I have done a lot of Wordoku and was glad to find a new challenge. This combination of Acrostics and Wordoku is just great. I'm tempted to do one often. I'll be anxious for another volume to come out. Lots of fun.

Enjoyed the challenge of finding the correct words to help fill in the letters. Hated to finish the book.

I love Sudoku and mating with anacrostic puzzles was really down my alley. I am anxiously awaiting Volumes 2, 3, 4, ...! I received this as a gift for Christmas 2008 and finished the book by January 10th, 2009. More!!!
