Daisy Kirkwood has only just escaped her small-town life and run away to New York City, the land of last-minute secret gigs at famous musical venues, when she's kidnapped by aliens. Unfortunately, no one ever writes about how to handle alien abduction in those fancy NYC guidebooks.

Griffin and Dev are supermassively sexy aliens from a politically and environmentally troubled planet who arrive on Earth with very little knowledge about human ways other than what they learned from a wayward E! News signal. Their mission is to pretend to be the most influential people on the planet—English pop stars, of course!—and gain the help of a powerful secret society. Upon arriving, they abduct Daisy Kirkwood, a nerdy young woman who loves music but could seriously use a bit of help in the love-life department. Though Griffin and Daisy initially squabble, neither can deny the intergalactic sparks whenever they're too close to each other. Together, they must face murderous aliens, cultural misunderstandings, bad backup musicians, and the dark side of fame and the media, all set against a tight deadline…

Part High Fidelity, part Bridget Jones' Diary, part Doctor Who, Dating an Alien Pop Star is a sexy romantic comedy.

I loved the cover of this book so I decided to give the book a chance. I was happy that the book turned out to be a true scifi romance. This book was quirky in a fun way, it was fast pace and the story line was a great concept except it fell a bit short on explaining what the secret society was supposed to do to help griffan and dev, that was a bit confusing because it wasn't very definite in the plot line. The action scenes in england were written well. I liked how griffan went clothes crazy that was hilarious. I'm saying to the future scifi readers I loved how the alien was a he man alpha type but was a strong male figure who showed his depth of feelings even when he was hurting that's a nice change from a lot of the books out there, that protray only a strong smart woman would want a he man type alpha. ,that this book shows that real woman can fall in love with a guy who makes her laugh and wants peace and love. Good kudos to this author there's not a lot of love going around right now so I feel this book is a good karama read for scifi nerds like me. Looking forward to the next book in this series......vw

If you like rom-coms, you'll love this! Funny, entertaining, silly with a few sweet truths, and some danger as well, this romp was the relief I needed from serious work and worries.

Music, Fashion, Romance. Being kidnapped by aliens has been given a new meaning in this funny and easy to read story full of music, fashion and modern day references. A story that radiates youth and entertainment and fits nicely into the New Adult genre. If you’re ready, come and meet - not your typical Fairly Odd Parents, but rather - your Fairly Odd Boyfriends from out of space. Described as a super wacky comedy for fans of Doctor Who, Douglas Adams, David Bowie or Muse, Dating an Alien Pop Star is a light-read and pleasant story. There are many references to artists, television shows, magazines, fashion brands and more. Becoming pop stars and being loved by everyone isn’t their sole objective though, and troubles from their home planet follow them to Earth. There’s more behind the visit of these boys. Curious as to what it is yet? And why did they choose Daisy to guide them? Will she sleep with Griffin? What’s this about a fiancee? First in a series, in this book Kendra has combined - as she described it herself - her own “love of goofy humor, music, and sci fi.” And it works brilliantly. In short this tale is made by the modern day references, the handsome alien men, the behaviour of the fans, the addressing of sexism, the misconceptions when it comes to fashion (Victoria’s Secret… that brand is worn without anything else, right?), the relatable heroine, and most of all the happy tone of the tale. Once you start reading it’s hard to stop, and this book will easily be finished. Not to worry, there are more parts to look forward too! By Vanne Booktastic NL

***THIS BOOK WAS PROVIDED TO NERD GIRL IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*** Dating an Alien Pop Star by Kendra L Saunders is a fun rollicking good time. Daisy, aka Wanda runs-literally-into some aliens, and is promptly kidnapped to provide style advice to Griffin, an Alien Pop Star!!! This book is all about Daisy, who Griffin insists on calling Wanda, and her adventures with aliens. I loved that Daisy immediately recognized that if she left her aliens, they could run into someone less than honorable and get into more trouble. Dating an Alien Pop Star is a wonderful can't miss ride, and I cannot wait for more!!! ***Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official.

I am a sucker for any books that have to do with aliens! I am completely obsessed. Roswell was one of my favorite shows I have ever watched. This book was super cute and funny. It was a fun and quick read. I read this book in just a few hours. It was easy to follow. All the chapters were broken down in a short and sweet manner. It was easy to follow and the writing flowed very well. There characters were silly, and quirky. They were easy to fall in love with. The aliens were fantastically portrayed. It was a great new take on aliens. This book makes for a perfect summer read. It's light and fluffy, just the type of book I like to relax by the pool with or for a day on the beach. YA Book Lovers can easily enjoy this book for sure. I would have easily put this book in that genre if it wasn't for the fact that one of the main characters was 29. If you love goofy, light and fluffy reads that just make you smile and entertain you this is a book you will want to read. This was a great reprieve from some of the books I had been reading lately. No dark, sad, or depressing moments here, just a lot of fun. This book was nerdy and I loved it! Off the wall, geeky, stuff that makes a nerd like me happy! There were a few moments in the story that seemed a bit over the top but I think it was just all part of the goofiness. At times this book read like a satire on humans and our world. It was very entertaining and funny. I would definitely recommend this book. It was a book that made me laugh and smile. A pure joy and pleasure to read. I am really hoping that there is going to be another one. I didn't want this read to end. The pages flew by so quickly. I am a fan of Kendra's now for sure! I can't wait to read all the rest of her books.
