About the Author

Hans and Margret Rey created many books during their lives together, including Curious George, one of the most treasured classics of all time, as well as other favorites like Spotty and Pretzel. But it was their rambunctious little monkey who became an instantly recognizable icon. After the Reys escaped Paris by bicycle in 1940 carrying the manuscript for the original Curious George, the book was published in America in 1941. More than 200 Curious George titles followed, with 75 million books sold worldwide. Curious George has been successfully adapted into a major motion picture and an Emmy-winning television show on PBS.

Place of Birth:

Hamburg, Germany; Margret in 1906, and H.A. in 1898

Place of Death:

Cambridge, Massachusetts; Margret died in 1996, H.A. in 1977

The illustrations in the book are the same as the cartoon series on PBS; not like the illustrations from the original books. But I like the new version better and that's why I bought this book but it' not a made-for-nook book. They just copied the pages and individual illustrations. So a lot of text doesn't correspond to the correct illustrations an vice versa. I don't recommend buying Curious George books for Nook unless they improve the format

My two year old grand daughter LOVES Curious George. This book is another entertaining story involving that mischivious little monkey. It had a storyline about fun in the snow which was new for my girl because we live in Florida and she hasn't seen snow.

I picked this book up along with a level one Curious George book for my 2 1/2 year old. Though she loves George this book was a little to wordy for a two and a half attention span. There is nothing wrong at all with the book just my timing of it.
