If you are under the age of 55 and want to know why architecture, art, music, TV, movies are the way they are, read this book. If you are a parent of young children, read this book. If you want to know how to defend Western Culture to your friends, read it. If you are under 55 you were not taught this info in school, so read it.

Excellent, thoughtful assessment. Well written, easy to read. Typical Roger Scruton conservative viewpoints but very thought provoking. Well worth the time to read a short but valuable contribution to philosophical thinking.
