About the Author

Rudolfo A. Anaya is the widely acclaimed author of more than a dozen novels exploring Hispanic life and culture in New Mexico and the Southwest. His books include Bless Me, Ultima, Heart of Aztlan, Zia Summer; and Jalamanta. a professor emeritus of English at the University of New Mexico where he taught for thirty years, he lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.



José Griego y Maestas has been a leading authority in the field of bilingual education in New Mexico for more than thirty years. He has served as the director of bilingual education studies at the College of Santa Fe and the Guadalupe Historic Foundation Museum. He is currently the dean of instruction at Northern New Mexico Community College and an educational consultant. He lives in Embudo, New Mexico.
