Overview

It's been five years since Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett first worked together to solve the Tri-State murders, and time has been both harsh and kind. Engaged now, they face the challenge of planning a deeply uncertain future together. Zane is at the pinnacle of his career with one last mystery to solve, while Ty is at sea in a world where he's no longer the tip of a spear.

There's just one more hurdle in the way of their happy ever after: a traitor from their inner circle who threatens to burn their world to the ground.

Squeezed between the Vega cartel, an unknown mole, and too many alphabet agencies to count, Ty and Zane must gather all their strength and resources to beat the longest odds they've ever faced. To make it out alive, they'll need help from every friend they've got. Even the friends who might betray their trust.

Where do I begin without giving any spoilers?  With Crash & Burn we get to see nearly all of the characters we've come to love and a few we didn't love so much.  At the heart of this story, we have the love and partnership of Ty and Zane, but just like the other installments of the series, that love is only part of the tale.  We find truths that were so deeply hidden under mountains of lies that you find yourself questioning every character and their true motives and loyalty.  The passion that has always been a huge part of these stories is still there as is the wit, the puns-some intentional and some not so much, the arguing, the laughter, and the friendships that hold this ragtag group together.  I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever read a book that had me saying "Oh my God!" so many times.  Some times it was said out of despair for what the character was contemplating, other times it was out of laughter not being able to believe the character said this or that, and a few times because I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how they were going to get out of the situation they found themselves in.  A true masterpiece and a definite must add to your personal library.

Everything I expected and hoped for! Several cameos from past characters, and all the snarky comments we come to expect. I laughed, and I cried. I am so heartbroken this is the last book! I will miss Ty and Zane like part of my family. One of the best series and amazing characters i have ever read about. I will have to hope for cameos in the Sidewinder spin off.

Wow, it's been a wild ride! Some may not agree with me when I say that this was a perfect ending to a wonderful series. Yes, the Cut & Run series is mainly about Ty and Zane, but they don't live in their own world - that would be too boring if everything was about them all the time. All the other characters made it interesting, with their own of problems and arguments, betrayals, distrust... but they all came together when it mattered because they're family. Ty and Zane didn't have to go at it alone and they knew they had the Sidewinders at their backs. I'm sad there won't be anymore Ty and Zane, but I like to think they're riding off into the sunset for a well-deserved honeymoon before they start the next chapter of their lives together (hopefully with a cat, or two). OOHRAH!

Reading this book is definitely bittersweet. If you're like me, you have loved and battled and felt every up and down with these men. Crash & Burn is suppose to be the final installment of the Cut & Run series. I sure won't be mad if it isn't, but if it is, it was an excellent way to go out. All the characters from every book in the Cut & Run Universe including side books and spin offs are present. Be prepared for lots of reveals. Many people are not who we thought they were. It's very secret spy ops. Also ready yourself to loose some characters. Who's good/bad/alive/dead? Crazy Chester is there filling in some laughs and of course all the other men with that dry sense of humor they have. I got emotional several times from all the deep friendships, bromances and romance. Yes, I did have tears. Some of the moments are a sad experience, some are touching and some we have been wanting for so long. Crash & Burn's action is off the charts. While reading, I kept thinking, this has got to be made into a movie. There are guns, bombs, fighting, knives, bad guys everywhere... Sex scenes don't dominate this storyline, but the ones that happen are extra steamy. I read so much that sadly sex scenes just run together sometimes, but I was undeniably all tingly while reading these. Ty & Zane are my favorite couple ever. I really hope that they have more books or parts in the spin offs. Sometimes when I think of them, I just love them so much that I feel like I can't stand it. A series like this one doesn't come along every day. Nine books in and the audience is still captivated. Any Cut & Run fan is sure to devour this book as well as anyone looking for an exciting, suspenseful, mysterious, thrilling ride with a big helping of heart. "You know I'd follow you anywhere. Even if it's straight to Hell." "I need you to be my brother again." "I don't know how to be me without it." "I love you." "And I'm too stubborn to let you die without me."

“I’m Catholic. I don’t pray, I just ask for forgiveness after.” ~ Nick O'Flaherty It was with a heavy heart that I started this final book in the 'Cut & Run' series by Abigail Roux. Oh I knew it was coming, I've known it for a while, I just didn't want to believe it. But I could certainly appreciate the author's desire to finish the series when Ty and Zane are still on top. 'Crash & Burn' was just as exciting and action-packed, plus filled with all of the humor, love, and hot sex, that I've come to expect from this series. Liam is back, on the run from a kill-order from the NIA, and "persuading" Nick to help him save Ty and Zane from the cartel. Ty and Zane have slowly been letting their guards down with Ty no longer working for the Bureau and Zane determined to catch the mole as his last job before retirement. Nick shows up stabbed on their front porch claiming Liam did it, and was then killed by the NIA. However, that's not the biggest revelation Nick drops in Ty's lap, and this one is going to change everything. Especially when Nick escapes their house after Ty handcuffed him to the bed. There's a lot of turmoil on the way, I can see it. A lot of turmoil is a mild description for the massive amount of political machinations, betrayals, greed, disloyalty, murder, and too many alphabet agencies involved to name. Between running from the NIA and the cartel, Zane, Ty, Sidewinder, Liam, and Julian Cross are doing everything possible to track down the money Burns stole from the cartel using Zane's name. If they can get the money to the CIA then Zane and Ty's names can be cleared. Like I said, a lot of turmoil. “I want you with me. ’Til the end. That may be selfish too, but I don’t care.” “The world out there is burning, Ty.” Ty ran his finger down Zane’s cheek, nodding. “But we were born in a kiln.” The author certainly didn't disappoint in this finale. I have grown to love this series, almost from the start, and Tyler will always be mine. The action-packed ending was phenomenal and I'm grateful the author left me with enough of the original characters to not be sobbing over someone's loss. Thank you, Abi, for eight years of your heart and soul. I'm honored to have known these men. NOTE: This book was provided by Riptide Publishing for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews

The fun continues in this conclusion to the Cut & Run series. This being the 9th and final book, the author again makes us laugh, cray and just basically enjoy while we read! In this book, Zane Garrett and Ty Grady are again up against the Cartel.  They are finding bad news around every corner too.  While there are some surprises in here that I will not give away, I think you will enjoy the cameo's played by the entertaining characters returning from previous books as well. Zane and Ty are just keeping on in this story.  They find out that someone they respected - maybe even more than one - has put a hit out on them both.  They must solve the mystery, find the money, take out the bad guys, and oh did we mention there is good guys and bad guys gunning for them both? Ty and Zane are engaged now.  Deciding when and where to have a wedding is where the problem lies.  How do you get married when you may not live to see the honeymoon?  More interesting questions are solved, and in just this book too! I found this to be very funny.  I enjoyed the banter.  The returning characters were a lot of fun!  Always worth reading Ty and Zane!  I could not put it down!

Love these guys - just love them!! And the fact that there are 9+ books in the series plus 3+ in other series with secondary characters make it an epic read. Enjoyed it from beginning to end. Love, sex, drama, angst, mystery and wonderful, unique characters - what more could you ask for? I read "Warrior's Cross" right after book #4 because those MC's play prominent roles in book #5 of the Cut & Run series. I also read "Shock & Awe" after book #7 because Nick and Kelly's timeline in the Sidewinder series starts right after that story about New Orleans. Then I went back to the Cut & Run and read #8 (Ball & Chain). Then I read the short "High & Tight" and then "Cross Shield" - both from the Sidewinder series. Lastly I finished back with Ty and Zane in #9 (Crash & Burn). I basically read the books from the Sidewinder series interspersed in the Cut & Run series by the date they were published.
