What I Thought- This is a really sweet board book. It highlights 10 blessings that everyone probably has, and then points out that you probably have more, and cannot count them all. Mrs. Spinelli has written a great story in poetry that makes you smile while reading it. It is a nice way to teach counting to ten too. Mr. Holland has a nice, warm illustrations that go perfectly with the book. Paired together, this is the perfect bedtime story. I enjoyed this board book tremendously. *NOTE* I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book

One of the universal things that we all do with our little ones is teach them to count. Whether we are buttoning up jammies or climbing stairs it just seems instinctual to begin to count. Before you know it your child will be chiming in as well. In Counting Blessings Eileen Spinelli has taken that everyday habit and included a twist. Instead of counting buttons or stairs she is counting blessings! The story centers around a sweet little bunny and follows him through his day counting up all the things that are blessings for him and his friends. In the end he comes to the conclusion that they have so many blessings that it would be impossible to count them all. The concept is a wonderful one but the pictures put it over the top. I just adore the beautiful illustrations by Lee Holland. His use of vibrant colors and sweet little animal creatures make the book a true delight for the eyes. This is a book that I am sure you won't mind reading again and again to your little one. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

This full-color hardcover children’s book is a must have for any collection. Not only is the main character a cute and cuddly bunny rabbit, but there is much versatility in this book. The first half of the story involves counting from one to ten. With the fun rhymes and engaging images, kids can learn the basics of counting. Then, there is a wrap-up to work on children’s memory. Afterwards, the second half of the book has various blessings to be grateful for. Cognitively, this will help kids transition from counting to analyzing. Plus, who doesn’t like a cutesy book about a bunny counting blessings?

Counting Blessings by Eileen Spinelli is adorable! My three year old loves reading this book to help her remember how to count to 10. She's almost got it but forgets 7 and 8. We've been reading this book every night together and just this morning she was able to count to 10 all on her own and remembered 7 and 8. She loves the illustrations throughout this book and I love that it helps her see the blessing in her life. This board book is absolutely perfect for little ones and a wonderful way to learn to count to 10! Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for my honest review. I only recommend products I've used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers.
