When an international ring of sex traffickers kidnaps an eight-year-old girl in Boston, FBI Agent Lucas Randall heads undercover. But his rescue operation goes disastrously wrong and Lucas barely escapes with his life. Now the ruthless traffickers are hunting him down, along with everyone else who threatens their operation.

Computer expert Ashley Chen joined the FBI to fight against evil in the world—evil she experienced firsthand. She has mad skills, and deadly secrets, and once she starts working with Lucas, she also has big trouble, because after years of pushing people away, she's falling for the guy. The feeling is more than mutual, but as Ashley intensifies her online pursuit of the trafficking ring, her traumatic past collides with her present and suddenly Lucas can't tell which side she's on. And as the case escalates into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, it turns out Ashley isn't the only one with something to hide.

If neither can trust the other with their secrets, how can they trust each other with their hearts?

About the Author

Toni Anderson is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, RITA® nominee, science nerd, professional tourist, dog lover, gardener, mom. Originally from a small town in England, Toni studied Marine Biology at University of Liverpool (B.Sc.) and University of St. Andrews (Ph.D.) with the intention she’d never be far from the ocean. Well, that plan backfired and she ended up in the Canadian prairies with her biology professor husband, two kids, a rescue dog, and two laid-back leopard geckos. Toni started writing while pregnant with her first child and never stopped. Her greatest achievements are mastering the Tokyo subway, climbing Ben Lomond, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and surviving fourteen Winnipeg winters (fingers crossed). She loves to travel for research purposes and was lucky enough to visit the Strategic Information and Operations Center inside FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. in 2016, and she also got to shove another car off the road during pursuit training at the Writer’s Police Academy in Wisconsin. Watch out world!

WOW it gets you right in the gut and makes you want to grab you children hug them tight and keep them close to you. No one trust the other, there seem to be a link no one knows where, could it be in their department. So many secrets, so many lies which will lead to many broken hearts. The book starts out with a knock at the door, a secret password and then all hell breaks loose leaving people dead and some wounded. This is just the beginning to a fast pace action adventure as the hunt is on to find the traffickers it goes from the hunted to being the hunter and back again leaving so many unanswered questions as the bad guys seem to be one step ahead of FBI. I just love Mr. Dove’s narration he pulls you in with a very strong and powerful voice. There are no background noises or repeating of words just a wonderful delightful listen. If any breaks were taken I could not tell he just delivers a very clean, clear and power audio. His tones are outstanding you can feel the passion, excitement coming right out of your speakers. His male voices are a wonderful as his female. You always know who is talking and what they are feeling. His normal voice is just a delight to listen to as he gives you the facts pulling you in to a world that has gone crazy. You can tell he has put a lot of thought into each character the voices fit them so well. He gives just enough pause, to let what he just read sink in giving it a powerful impact on the listener. Mr. Dove knows how to pull you in taking your on a ride that will leave you holding your breath wanting to pull the characters out of the story to keep them safe. His Performance is one of the best narrators I have listened to. I know when I see his name it is going to be a wild exciting ride. This leads off with mystery, suspense and action with wonderful characters that keeps you entertained with a page turner you can’t put down. When it comes to children there is nothing more dearly to your heart than a child that has been kidnapped and put in a sex ring. The clock is ticking as Lucas is on a race with the clock to find the little girl who has been taken before harm can be done to her. Just when we think it is all going to work out all hell breaks loose with bodies flying and buildings falling. This is a very emotional touching read from the characters to the issues. It is a race to bring the traffickers in and keeping the child alive to be able to get her alive until she can get to the court to put them away. I really liked the chemistry between Lucas and Ashley the bickering just add to the romance and story. The twists and turns are exciting along with the suspense and action. It seems everyone is hiding something from the ones on the right side of the laws to the ones that are on the other side. Ashley seemed so open and up front until she starts acting weird than you know it must be something big. When you find the answer your heart just breaks for her. I really liked the characters and loved the plot it kept me guessing, hanging on the edge, a few heart stopping moments with lots of excitement and suspense. The ending is wonderful. Ms. Anderson is one of my favorite authors from the first book I picked up that scared the crap right out of me. She has had me in the palm of her hands every since.

Gritty. Emotional. Steamy. Sexy. Romantic. Hopeful. Horrifying. Intense. From the action-packed first chapter to a very satisfying conclusion, Cold Secrets was one heck of a ride…. FBI Agent Lucas Randall is undercover trying to rescue a young girl from a suspected sex-trafficking ring. When things literally blow up on him, a task force is formed, including BAU-4 Agents Mallory Rooney and Ashley Chen. Agent Chen, like Agent Randall, has made appearances in prior books in this series. But unlike the very likeable Lucas Randall, Ashley Chen is mysterious and untouchable. “Secrets” is the operative word here, because Agent Chen has a big one. As always, you can count on a Toni Anderson book being well-written. You can always count on an engrossing plot. Not only do we have all of that with Cold Secrets, but this author has given us two fascinating characters and actually made me fall in love with them BOTH. Why is that a big deal? When I met Lucas Randall before, I immediately grabbed him as my ideal book boyfriend. Handsome and strong, with unshakable morals, this “knight in shining armor” captured my thoughts. When I met Agen Chen in an earlier book, I immediately disliked her. It was clear she was hiding something, which made her instantly “untrustable” to me. So when I saw that “my” Agent Randall was going to have Ashley Chen as his heroine - ugh. I really felt cheated. Then I opened to page one…….. Once again, Ms. Anderson has shown me that she knows her characters much better than I think I do! Not only did Lucas and Ashley have amazing chemistry, I actually began to like, then admire, Ashley Chen. By the time I read the last word written in the book, I loved her character, strength and smarts! That this author could get me to so completely change my mind that was, hands down, so “anti” Agent Chen, that is nothing short of magical. What a journey through the past and present these two Special Agents needed to travel to their HEA. And I for one was thrilled to be along for it!

Cold Justice Book Seven. Ashley Chen is very aware that she looks young for an agent and her Asian heritage doesn't help her avoid stereotyping, but she is sick of being underestimated. When Lucas Randall joins the ranks of those who don't believe in her skills, she is determined to set him straight. However, she knows there is a fine line between Lucas seeing her for herself, and betraying her true identity to the world. When Lucas is sent into a brothel only to have it blown, Ashley knows that her past is coming back to catch her. Can she trust Lucas, or is he working for the very people she has been running from? If you've been waiting for Randall's story, you will not be disappointed! Audio Review: As always, Eric G. Dove captures the personalities and voices of each individual character without going overboard.

Best of series. The characters were as big a mystery as the crimes they were investigating. Engaging and fast-paced.

Absolutely excellent romantic thriller! The suspense is nail-biting, the romance is hot, and the plot is heart breaking yet heart warning. The characters are deep & very realistic. The beginning starts smooth & informative which helped me connect with characters, then the plot unfolds with a bang of action & intensity and the finale is jaw-dropping.. shocking! :) I love this series and each addition is able to maintain or excel. My heart went out to Ashley & the girls. Lucas is a hot sexy alpha. Both main characters are very dedicated intelligent agents. Of course Alex is the glue, lol. Looking forward to what's next for this series.

Cold Secrets brings us back to the dark side of justice and how sometimes lines have to be crossed to make sure the evil is put where it belongs. The evil this time around is sex traffickers of children. The author opens the story with quite a bang with undercover FBI Agent Lucas Randall going into a brothel to rescue a 8 year old who had recently been kidnapped. This group of traffickers are ruthless and dont care who they kill to keep from being caught. I am still cringing at the ages of the girls that were being used. The most interesting character though was Ashley Chen who works on the ciber part of crimes for the FBI. Her partner for this case is Mallory from the first book in the series. Ashley has such a strong sense of wanting justice for victims. Its not until the story unfolds that we see why she wants that and that she has been hiding some pretty big secrets. The story moved along at a pretty fast pace and didnt hold back on the sick and twisted moments. Edge of your seat thriller from beginning to end.
