Jack Reacher and Will Trent

Twice the action.

Twice the drama.

Double the trouble.

Will Trent is undercover at Fort Knox. His assignment: to investigate a twenty-two-year-old murder.  His suspect's name: Jack Reacher.

Jack Reacher is in Fort Knox on his own mission: to bring down a dangerous criminal ring operating at the heart of America’s military.  Except now Will Trent is on the scene.

But there’s a bigger conspiracy at play – one that neither the special agent nor the ex-military cop could have anticipated. And the only option is for Jack Reacher and Will Trent to team up and play nicely. If they can…

Waste of time and money, an ad for a possible future collaboration. The authors are taking advantage of reader loyalty to make a quick hit. Fine, won’t purchase the next few titles, will access them for free through the Libby app.

Too short. Not enough action. Story did not hold my interest. Hard to get into at beginning but more disappointed at the end.

Cleaning the Gold is a short story by Lee Child and Karin Slaughter. What events might lead to these most bizarre of circumstances? Will Trent (under the alias of Jack Phineas Wolfe) and Jack Reacher are in the nation's Gold Vault in Fort Knox, Kentucky, dusting and stacking bars of gold. Reacher is there to get some in-the-act evidence on an abusive army major/loan shark. He knows that Wolfe's not really this other guy's name, but he suspects he might be there for the same reason. He's not. Will Trent is on the trail of a murder suspect from a twenty-two-year-old cold case in Georgia. And that suspect is Jack Reacher. He just needs some DNA.... It's easy to see that Slaughter and Child had a lot of fun putting this little piece together. Lots of twists, a bit of action and some fun between these two very different protagonists. A short but very entertaining dose of Jack Reacher and Will Trent.

I love this short story collaboration between Karin Slaughter and Lee Child! Both authors write the most exciting novels all unto themselves but to write a short story together, well, it's just brilliant. I can only hope to see future works! Bravo!!

I love Karin Slaughter. This story is absolutely unputdownable and truly such a treat. And Karin and Lee are a dynamite combination. 100% recommend.

This book is a mash up of Will Trent and Jack Reacher. While I don't have a lot of experience with either of these characters, I still enjoyed this book. Shady things are happening at Fort Knox, and the only two people who could solve this mystery are Jack Reacher and Will Trent. Will is supposed to be investigating Jack and solving a 22-year old cold case. However, this conspiracy seems to go deeper than either one of them could have imagined. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I though this was a fun book to read. It feels like you are a part of the team. I wish I had more background about the characters because this book felt a little rushed for me. However, even with the quick pace, I really enjoyed the story. I hope to see more collaborations from Slaughter and Child in the future.
