Detective D. D. Warren has four days to stop a killer in this “shocking…‘must read’”* from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner—one of Library Journal's Best Thrillers of the Year.

Charlene Grant believes she is going to die. For the past few years, her childhood friends have been murdered one by one. Same day. Same time. Now she’s the last of her friends alive, and she’s counting down the final four days of her life until January 21st.

Charlene doesn’t plan on going down without a fight. She has taken up boxing, shooting, and running. She also wants Boston’s top homicide detective, D. D. Warren, to handle the investigation.

But as D. D. delves deeper into the case, she starts to question the woman’s story. Instinct tells her that Charlene may not be in any danger at all. If that’s true, the woman must have a secret—one so terrifying that it alone could be the greatest threat of all.

I believe this book will tie with The Perfect Husband as my favorite Lisa Gardner book. The mystery keeps you guessing to the point that even if you think you have it figured out, you can't wait to get to the end to find out if you're right. The bonus is having so many characters from past books (including JT and Tess from The Perfect Husband) included and seeing where they are today. Amazingly, I think the only past character not to show up is Bobby Dodge, the one character you figure would. Whether you are a huge Lisa Gardner fan or if this is the first book you read by her, you will enjoy it.

**HIGHLY Recommended** Lisa Gardner is simply amazing!!! The way she tells several stories about several characters that keep you trying to figure out how they all fit together is unbelieveable!! What an awesome and enjoyable addition to the series. I surely hope it's not the last. D.D. is so funny & I'm enjoying reading about not only her adventures at work, but also at home with her new life and baby! Another wonderful read by Lisa.... definitely can't wait until the next one!!!

Lisa Gardner once again proves to her fans why she is one of the best in the business with her newest release in her Sergeant Detective D.D. Warren series Catch Me! As a newly made mom returning from maternity leave, sleep deprived and caffeine deficient Detective D.D. Warren walks onto the crime scene of her first case in ten weeks to discover suspicions are high the victim sitting before her is no isolated incident. By all appearances, someone is targeting pedophiles although not a bad idea, D.D. must pull her team together to follow what scant clues the almost antiseptic scene provides. A vigilante with a neat streak, D.D. fears they have their work cut out for them. A lone figure dressed in dark clothing observing from outside the crime scene makes a run for it as D.D. makes chase, thoughts that it certainly could not be that easy as she coaxes her still adjusting system to catch what she hopes is the perpetrator. Alas, although D.D. manages to stop her quarry in their tracks, the true purpose behind Charlene Rosalind Carter Grant’s appearance has D.D. stopping in hers. A riveting pager turner that exposes more that we could possibly imagine churning within the dark under belly of the world of pedophiles while providing a glimpse into the twisted psychological damage a parent can inflict on a child. To the delight of fans everywhere however, the surprise cameo appearances of past characters read like a family reunion that stretches across Lisa’s entire writing career, which is highly apropos given that the once hard-core and singular detective’s character has evolved into a family way herself! One wonders if motherhood will prove harder to D.D. than catching criminals. An excellent read, you will not be able to put this book down even once you have finished reading it!

LOVED THIS BOOK! I couldn't put it down - stayed up late to finish it. D D Warren is kind of quirky and I found myself laughing off and on throughout the book. Lisa Gardener is a superb storyteller and this book did not disappoint! With all of the plot twists, I found myself at the edge of my seat, waiting for what came next. I was completely suprised when the killer was finally revealed! Never would I have suspected... You have to read this book!

D.D. Warren, the Boston homicide detective featured in this widely-read series, faces two challenges in this latest installment: a new baby boy who keeps her and her boyfriend, Alex, up through the night and, now that she’s back from maternity leave, a complex mystery surrounding a young woman who approaches her with the admonition that she expects to be murdered four days hence and she hopes D.D. will handle the investigation. What to do? How can you undertake the investigation of a murder that hasn’t even taken place yet? The prospective victim’s name is Charlene, known as Charlie throughout. She’s spent the past year in training: running, boxing, and learning to shoot in anticipation of the big event. It seems her two best friends were strangled on January 21 in each of the previous two years, and logic dictates that it’s now Charlie’s turn. The plot traces the next days and the events that take place, which demonstrate D.D.’s evolving character change brought about by her domestic developments and Charlie’s preparations to meet her expected fate. An interesting aside within the sub-plot, which addresses murders of pedophiles, involves a young boy lured into a potential sex act by the user of an internet game appealing to youngsters. The author uses the technique to tell the story by alternating third person p.o.v. to relate D.D.’s activities, and first person describing Charlie’s. Not a thrill a page, perhaps, but certainly an excellent thriller, and recommended.

I fell in love with both of Lisa's series and this book is no disappointment. D. D is back again even better. James Patterson may be the best male author but Lisa is by far the best female author. I have yet to read any of her mystery books and not been able to put them down until I finish. I read them over twice and each time is only better. Must read these!

I loved it. It incorporated soo many other characters from previous novels. It was cool to see the characters that are normally separate interact. It was very suspenseful too. Overall great always

I really enjoy this series and this author. DD Warren is an interesting character. The books are thoroughly enjoyable. If you haven't read the rest of the series I would at least read the short story before this book. Her books could possibly stand alone but they are good enough to start at the beginning and read them all. Enjoy!

I found myself hooked from the very first page of Lisa Gardner's latest novel, Catch Me. I have read Gardner's books for years and her stories are always fresh and exciting! Charlene Grant is a young woman who trained for one year for her biggest test ever...saving her own life! Two of her friends have been killed, and Charlene fears she is next. Understandably, Charlene finds it hard to trust anyone and her best friend now is a "dog that's not her dog". Charlene goes as far as to report her upcoming death to Detective DD Warren, who must figure out if Charlene is really a victim or not. DD Warren must juggle between being a new mom and her job. Now she must deal with a murder that hasn't happened yet. Will Charlene Grant die? Only time will tell, and her time is up January 21st!

Boston homicide detective, D.D. Warren is asked by a woman to investigate the woman's death when she is murdered in four days.Charlene Rosalund Carter Grant tells D.D. that her two best friends have been murdered in the last two years, both on Jan. 21st at 8:00 P.M. Now she thinks it's her turn.A parallel story tells of the investigation D.D.'s unit is having of someone who has been murdering pedophiles. As an aside to this, D.D. has just become a mother and is enjoying her new motherhood. The tension mounts as the deadline draws near and we wonder if the steps Charlene has take to prevent her murder will be enough.Lisa Gardner is an excellent story teller and has added a number of plot twists which keep the reader guessing and add to the enjoyment of the book.

Detective D.D. Warren has returned to work after her maternity leave and is faced with a pedophile's murder. While at the scene a mysterious note saying, 'Everyone has to die sometime. Be Brave' is left on her windshield. Warren spots a young woman watching her and after chasing her down finds that the woman is expecting to get murdered and wanted to see who would be handling her homicide investigation. Charlene Rosalind Carter Grant is a desperate woman. Her two best friends have been murdered, both on Jan. 21st a year apart and without any signs of struggle. Grant feels that her day to die is in a few days. She has gone 'off the grid' and has trained to fight in an effort to save herself. Will Warren be able to help her?I have read Gardner's books and have enjoyed everyone of them. I'm new to the Warren series but I will be on the look out for more. With frequent twists and turns and a surprise ending, every mystery lover will enjoy this book.

Boston detective DD Warren is back, and newborn Jack and loving partner Alex notwithstanding, she's as tough and determined as ever. And that's a good thing as she's faced with two intriguing cases. Officially she's on the hunt for the serial murderer of Boston pedophiles. But she's also been approached by Charlene Rosalind Carter Grant who believes that she too is about to become the victim of a killer. In the past two years someone has killed each of her two closest friends on January 21, a date which is fast approaching. In many ways it's Charlie's book. The surviving child of a woman who suffered from Munchausen's by proxy, Charlie has blocked much of her horrible childhood from her memory. But as her past becomes tangled with her present, she tries to prepare to face a killer on January 21 and to remember her own past. Is she prepared to encounter a face from her past or will she merely be facing herself?DD, back from maternity leave and encountering that difficult transition to mother/lover/professional, finds rudimentary connections between her two cases. But how valid are they? How many killers is she actually looking for? How many murders are connected?'Catch Me' displays Gardner's usual fast-paced, gritty suspense and interesting, multi-faceted characters. However, there were far too many times that the novel hit dry patches, and I was reminded that I was reading the results of Gardner's research into internet predators....too much research that not well integrated into the narrative. The narrative thrust was lost in the heavy-handed background.Nevertheless, there was a villain whose identity was a surprise to me. It's a book worth reading, but it's not Gardner at her best.

Great page turner, murder mystery. What would you do if you had only 4 days to live and knew it?? What a wild ride this book takes the reader on. The author of this series is one of the best mystery writers out there, and she never disappoints. The series is a typical police procedural, but the author is so talented with the twists and turns you have to look forward to every new book she writes.

Lisa Gardner has done it again; another edge of your seat, stay up all night, can¿t put it down, book! If you have followed my reviews you know I have had a problem in the past with D.D. and that I was hoping that having a baby would humanize her a bit, well Lisa Gardner has done just that I really liked D.D. in this book! This story had its twists and turns and kept you guessing all the way to the reveal, D.D. has 2 cases going on at once the first one is someone is killing pedophiles which brings a sex crimes detective called O onto the team and her and D.D. butt heads. There is also Charlie Grant who comes to D.D. to solve her murder, her 2 best friends were killed a year apart on Jan.21st and as that date approaches Charlie is convinced she is next and she wants D.D. to find the killer, but can D.D. do that before or after? We also get a bonus of characters from other books that I for one have missed it was a great gift for longtime fans of Lisa¿s books. As for D.D. we get to see how she is handling being a mother and a cop and how great Alex is for her! We also meet D.D.¿s parents and get insight into her childhood that explains a lot about her personality. It also made me care more about D.D. than I have before but it is because of the entire series to really see how she has grown and changed with each book.If you are a fan of Lisa Gardner this is a must read and if you¿ve never read Lisa¿s books before what are you waiting for these are some of the best mysteries out there!I received and advance copy of this book from netgalley .5 Stars

It will be January 21 soon. Two years ago on January 21, Charlie's best friend Randi was strangled to death. Last year on January 21, it was her best friend Jackie. In high school they were known as RandiJackieCharlie. So, for the past year, Charlie has been preparing for the inevitable, because she's not going without a fight. She's learned how to shoot her 22 caliber Taurus. She's learned to run, box, fight, etc. She's even enlisted the local Boston PD in the form of Detective D.D. Warren, to whom she's told her story.Meanwhile, there have been a series of pedophile murders; peodphiles shot by a 22 caliber gun. Detective Warren is on that case as well...although Charlie's isn't really a case since no crime against her has been committed. Partnered with sex crime, Detective O, unfortunately Charlie looks good for the pedophile murders--hey, with 80 hours of life left, what has she to lose? The premise of an upcoming murder is what makes Catch Me interesting. But of course, complications make the plot that much trickier. Unfortunately for the story, I really like Charlie and don't want to see her struggle more than she has to. Detective Warren is a good, solid character and I can see why she's so popular. She's pit against Detective O, the tiger. The writing's good, although you don't get a sense of Boston, which is sad. Catch Me could have been a tighter book if it was about 50 pages shorter. By page 314, I was ready for a conclusion, but still had 75 pages to go.Ending was OK. Nothing special.

D.D. Warren has one unusual case on her hands. Charlene Rosalind Carter Grant finds D.D. at a crime scene and lets her know that in four days someone is going to kill her. Her best friends were killed on January 21st the previous two years. Charlie prepares with boxing and shooting lessons, but she doesn't really think she will live past the 21st. D.D. is busy with her man, a new baby, and a visit from her parents. This book went really slow for me. I had a real hard time finishing it. I just never connected with Charlie or D.D. I did, however, enjoy the conclusion and the way things turned out.
