Overview

When we last saw our heroes, George and Harold, they had been turned into evil zombie nerds doomed to roam a devastated, postapocalyptic planet for all eternity. But why, you might ask, didn't the amazing Captain Underpants save the boys from this frightening fate? Because Tippy Tinkletrousers and his time-traveling hijinks prevented George and Harold from creating Captain Underpants in the first place! About the Author

As a child, Dav Pilkey was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. Dav was so disruptive in class that his teachers made him sit out in the hall every day. Luckily, Dav loved to draw and make up stories, so he spent his time in the hallway creating his own original comic books.

In the second grade, Dav Pilkey created a comic book about a superhero named Captain Underpants. His teacher ripped it up and told him he couldn’t spend the rest of his life making silly books. Fortunately, Dav was not a very good listener.

Dav has gone on to create award-winning and bestselling books for children. His Captain Underpants series has more than 80 million copies in print worldwide and has been translated into more than 28 languages. In 2017, DreamWorks Animation brought the character to the silver screen in the feature film adaptation Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, and Netflix is now streaming The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants TV show.

Dav’s latest creation, Dog Man, continues to be a #1 New York Times bestselling series with more than 13 million copies in print worldwide and translations available in more than 21 languages. Dav is also the creator of the Dragon series, the Dumb Bunnies series, Dog Breath, and The Paperboy, which is a Caldecott Honor Book.

Dav lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife.

This book was so funny I recommend it for anyone who has a strong stomach. But I would like to make a big note this is part 2 of Captain Underpants and the terrifying turn of Tippy Tinkle trousers. It's better to start off at book of the series to understand everything better. (I recommended it below. It's the blue book.) I also recommend reading his Super diary baby series and his Ook and Gluk series.  I hope my review helped you bye! ^_^

The vocabulary is challenging for this age group but the illustrations help tremendously. There are people who complain about the series containing potty humor, pranks, etc., There really isn't much potty humor in this book - if any.  The kids get themselves into trouble unintentionally and actually try to help their principal. It's more about good winning over evil. I think adults need to actually read the book instead of skimming the pages in order to understand the underlying theme. It's pure fun and it makes kids look forward to reading.

This series is the only thing that makes my grandson want to read. The stories may be silly but they've been a great tool for improving his reading skills.

So far into the series, I wasn't expecting to go in this direction. But in a way, these are fun reads. Mostly catching up on series that I started to read but stopped reading. Thus, reading where in said series. Good series.

A great story for your imagination.  My favorite part about the book was the two tiny Tippys.

The latest installment of Captain Underpants delivers laugh after laugh. I read it aloud to my four and six year old, and it was another memorable, fun reading experience. In this book, the vocabulary is rich and sophisticated. The plot is very convoluted--which adds to the humor, but it does get a bit bogged down at times. My kids love Captain Underpants. I love that they enjoy reading and listening to stories which this entire series inspires. Thank you, Mr. Pilkey!
