About the Author

As a child, Dav Pilkey was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. Dav was so disruptive in class that his teachers made him sit out in the hall every day. Luckily, Dav loved to draw and make up stories, so he spent his time in the hallway creating his own original comic books.

In the second grade, Dav Pilkey created a comic book about a superhero named Captain Underpants. His teacher ripped it up and told him he couldn’t spend the rest of his life making silly books. Fortunately, Dav was not a very good listener.

Dav has gone on to create award-winning and bestselling books for children. His Captain Underpants series has more than 80 million copies in print worldwide and has been translated into more than 28 languages. In 2017, DreamWorks Animation brought the character to the silver screen in the feature film adaptation Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, and Netflix is now streaming The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants TV show.

Dav’s latest creation, Dog Man, continues to be a #1 New York Times bestselling series with more than 13 million copies in print worldwide and translations available in more than 21 languages. Dav is also the creator of the Dragon series, the Dumb Bunnies series, Dog Breath, and The Paperboy, which is a Caldecott Honor Book.

Dav lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife.

This book is a story out of this world. I hope Dav Pilkey makes more Captain Under Pants. I think this the best book in the world. I think who ever reads my review and likes it should read the book. The nerd in this story wants to rule the world. But just in time to save the world.

When we last saw our heroes they were facing down three terrifying boogie monsters. In this book, Sulu the bionic hamster saves them, but that just flings George, Harold and Captain Underpants into their wildest adventure yet. If Mr. Krupp and Melvin Sneedley having switched bodies wasn't enough now Melvin is principal! And that means Melvin has Mr. Krupp's super powers and Captain Underpants has none. This is a tangled plot that only...time travel can fix? The Captain Underpants books are fun, silly (and a little gross) books that kids really love. They're good for reluctant readers since there aren't huge blocks of text to overwhelm them. Best for a 6-13 age range they make excellent library or class collection books as well.

"There is a lot of action, laughs and get to know a new dance called the underpants dance." As you read see my daughter who is 8 years old really liked this book. She has several books from this series and loves them all. Me & my husband like to make reading fun for our daughter and not a chore. I highly recommend this book series for all kids.

The Captain Underpants books continue to capture the heart of children everywhere. No exception for the most recent.

The Captain Underpants series follows the antics of two students at Jerome Horwitz Elementary, George and Harold, who create comics and get into lots of trouble. The boys turn their principal, Mr. Krupp, into Captain Underpants, a superhero from their comics. In this installment of the series, Melvin Sneedly’s invention goes terribly wrong and turns him into a super-sized monster. When the class goes on a field trip to the tissue factory, Captain Underpants must take on oversized Melvin. As usual, it’s up to George and Harold to save the day. Will Melvin Sneedly ever be the same again? My favorite part of this story is the un-necessarily disgusting chapter when you learn about Melvin’s appearance. I enjoyed this chapter because of the revolting descriptions and amusing comments. I also liked the flip-o-rama animation system and colorful illustrations in this edition. I give this book five stars for how hilarious it is, yet how lovable the pranksters George and Harold are. I recommend this book for ages 7+ because of the easy-to-get jokes and funny mix-ups. I hope you’ll want to read the next book as much as I do! Reviewed by Bianca M., Age 9, Denver Mensa

Book seven in the Captain Underpants series.Harold and George thought that the Combine-O-Tron had put everything back to normal. Unfortunately, there was one minor glitch: Mr. Krupp's and Melvin's brains have been switched. Melvin schemes to keep all of Captain Underpants' powers for himself.

Dav Pilkey's "Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers" is a story about Captain Underpants fight against the Bionic Booger Boy and his bad guy friends the Robo-Boogers. They travel through time, encounter monsters, and many robots while trying avoid massive boogers. Although I didn't particularly care for "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby" this book had the same kind of theme, but the book has more words and less pictures. Although the content is really, really silly, this book had more of a storyline to be followed. I can see how a child would enjoy this particular book. This book is funny and adventurous. Like "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby' this book could be used in a classroom library as a book to increase AR reading points or pleasure reading.

This is one of those series that you had started reading, but stopped reading after a long while. Now, finally trying to catch up. Another okay but has its moments I guess, type of read.

This series of books are of interest to my 7 year grandson. Therefore we tend to go on a weekly basis to see what new book is on the shelve and to our surprise I believe he has purchased them all. We have asked the associate at the store about the new coming books and they seem to not be able to find info on the upcoming books. Have these stopped from being published? My grandson loves these books and therefore, loves to read which is a good habit that is being started at an early age. Thank you
